Hacking How to get gPSP (Kai / J ) to recognize .sav ?

I am trying to get gPSP to recognize a .sav. I have taken the sav from my cart using GBA backup tool and a flashcard on the DS. I transferred the .sav over to the PSP, but it won't see it in gPSP Kai or J. Is there some sort of conversion that needs to be done first?

    developer tools which would be extremely useful if not for the fact the interface throws up JavaScript errors for some reason

    There are secret developer tools for the 3DS Internet Browser if you held down specific keys when launching.
