How often do people get instabanned here?

In the general off topic chat a new member using the alias DaN1ggaO made a thread about a dark skinned character in Fire Emblem and was instabanned. I didn't read the thread but extrapolating from the title it was probably a racist thread. Are these sort of events normal here?

I didn't see the thread, but I assume the ban was for the username? Racism is still a normal part of life for many people, so I don't see why it wouldn't occur here from time to time, but luckily (unlike IRL) it will never be tolerated.

Unfortunately those things happens.
Usually salty users that got banned and have some personal crusade.

Best is to just report the thread and don't respond to it.
The lesser those things get bumped/given attention to, the quicker they'll go away.
