To my current understanding, I need to re-partition the card to ex-FAT32 however there is a lot of confusing and contradicting information out there and I don't want to screw up my device or card.

Has anyone here done it and if so, how do you do it? I just want my device to be able to read and access/write to the card.

Thanks!

If there is anything on it, back it up. Then right-click the card in windows and format it to FAT32 (not FAT, exFAT, or NTFS) and you should be good.

Hmm, there doesn't seem to be an option for FAT32, perhaps I need additional software =/

fat32formatter to format it to "fat32" as it is that type of filesystem, you cannot drag files over 4GB onto the drive, although that wont matter with a 3DS anyways.

Does this works?
In CMD prompt:
Code:
format /FS:FAT32 /A:32K /Q X:
or
format /FS:FAT32 /A:32K X:
Where X is any drive letter that is assigned to your SD card.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
