Hacking How can I not suck at Homebrew?

My Home button is broke. So I did some google, did some asking, and came to find out that I need Macrofire so I can just make a new button. I download said homebrew, stuck it in a folder, then sent it to the Root of my memory card. Nothing.
Moved folder to the Game folder. Nothing.
Moved to the GameXX. Game150, ISO, Video, Music, every folder, and I either get nothing or corrupted icons.

I repeat the same thing with different versions, same story.

How in the hell is homebrew supposed to work?

I'm using M33-6.

I'm also having trouble with some stupid plugin thats supposed to let me play some newer games, but its tutorial isn't making any sense either.

I mean the plugin is for m33, but its supposed to work on 6.20 OFW? Whats the point of using a firmware thats not m33? And whats psardumper and why isnt it working even though ive extracted it to every folder on my memory card? Then I have to activate a plugin? WTF? How? Why do all these tutorials on google suck unless you're not a n00b to all of this.

As for the plugin that's supposed to fix games for m33, how to use it depends on what it is. You should get the Prome-4 plugin for 5.00 M33, you run the installer like homebrew, and then it's installed and you can erase the installer.

As for the point of using something that's not M33, development of M33 stopped a while ago, and new games and plugins and homebrews are meant for the newer firmwares (so they may have issues on M33).

Will this prome-4 thing have a tutorial on how to use homebrew?

Or do I just create multiples of one folder in every directory and hope one of them should work?

Prome-4 is to play newer PSP games.

As for homebrew, the FAQ guide shows you how to put them on the memory stick so they work.

instead of using macrofire, physically fix it. Get a new homebar ribbon cable. 5 bucks, including Dpad and directional buttons. Get it at dealextreme.

I had the same problem, so I opened my psp and fixed it myself. Heck, the psp was free, and it was hella old, so the warranty was up.

Up to you though, if you're not keen on opening your psp, then don't do this.

How do I unistall Prom-3?

You sent me a download for Prom-4, and i downloaded it, but it says Prom-3.

Some games work now, but a few game saves are corrupted now, and I don't want to spend another 40 hours on Dissidia.

I read some comments about holding L on startup, but that doesn't work. Anything else I can do?
