So question for you, when you say you can play backups on vita with henkaku, does that mean the same kind of thing you could do on psp with isos?
Essentially, yes, but it's not exactly as easy. With PSP ISOs you can just drag and drop and you're pretty much done, for Vita backups your either need to install it using VPKs (which is like an executable)/Maidump (which are decrypted games that need to be installed from the Maidump homebrew app), or use a plugin called NoNpDRM to play it (which is the best method, because NoNpDRM dumps are basically complete dumps). With NoNpDRM it's kind of drag and drop, but you have to follow some additional steps and sometimes the NoNpDRM dumps out there may lack a particular file needed to be played (basically a fake license) because they're all normal user dumps, and normal users are exactly "perfect" sometimes and may forget to add a file to their dump

"I was a bit unclear: fat models still require a memory card"
Does this mean 1000 models CAN'T use the vita memory card adapter? like can I install it on a normal vita mem card and then use the hacked vita to use the adapter or do I need to leave the official mem card in?
You will need a memory card to install the new exploits, but the SD2Vita adapter itself will still work
after the installation no problem. If you have 3.67/3.68, you will need the official memory card in it whenever you reboot and have to reinstall the exploit. If you have 3.65, once Henkaku Enso is installed you can remove the official memory card because Henkaku will load at boot.
TBH, it's not a big deal really, just pick up the smallest, cheapest Vita memory card you can fine and leave it in 24/7. There are no "hardware devices" that use that slot so it's not a big problem. At worst, you're out like $10-$20
This is because the Slim models had 1GB of the 2GB internal storage partitioned as memory card storage without an official memory card inserted (after everyone complained about no on-board storage with the OLED model). The OLED model still has this 2GB internal storage, but it doesn't have that 1GB mounted as a memory card when there's no memory card inserted, you 100%
require a memory card for the OLED Vita for this exploit.
It's likely the reason this is required is because this new exploit launcher isn't a web exploit, so it requires some kind of user-based storage that a stock Vita firmware can read from...which is only the memory card. The Slim has the internal storage, the OLED doesn't, so the OLED needs at least some kind of memory card.
:/ just to be 100% sure.
There is a huge deal of used PS Vita in my nearest Gamestop, and generally used and GS mean that they will come with the 3.68.
Will i be able to run HENkaku on a 3.68 PSVita and Vita games backup like FFXHD?
Yes. Henkaku is a kernel exploit, and this latest will run on 3.68, so backups are all playable.
