You need an account with xbox unity iirc.

Did that, updated to freestyle 3.783 custom and freestyle still wont download box arts

It's possible it no longer works. About a year ago, I noticed a lot of missing artwork, and beyond the icons, a lot is missing. The icons are part of the default.xex iirc, so it's not technically downloading anything.

I think you are right...

I'm manually doing them now...

Might be easier to just have games I dont own BC or arent BC on my series x only on my jtag to save space and time

Might be time to switch to Aurora? That seems to be working fine.
I don't really like the interface of Aurora, but it's just a frontend to launch games, it's not like I'm looking at it much.

Does it still pull all the box arts because i had heaps missing

I really like how Freestyle separates Xbox, Homebrew, XBLA and 360 titles

Do you know a good place for just the front covers?

Despite being banned, I go to gamefaqs for boxart. emumovies might have them, but ps2 maybe as high as they go. They have both 2d and 3d boxart.
