I would not be personally inclined to leech off your neighbors wireless when using any region changer, ios downgrader, or wanin's 4.0 updater. If you get disconnected at the wrong time during these installs, I'm pretty sure you could brick. So better to do with a reliable connection. If you can get a hold of the wad for your system menu, installing that may fix your problem.

Have you tried to install the wad with wad manager 1.3?

Yeah I did, but when I boot up wadmanager it asks me to press A, when I do that on my gc controller nothing happens.

I guess in your situation, you might need a fresh firmware to do anything. You did say you can use bootmii right. You could try to run wanin's 4.0 updater (on your neighbors) and see if that fixes your problem. Even if it bricks, you should be able to restore the nand of your bricked wii to the state it's in now. So you'd be right where you started. No harm done.

Yes, only 1 problem. I need to setup that connection...

You might be screwed. In order to restore your wii you need either a) a backup of your wii's nand in a functional state, b) the ability to install wads to reinstall your system menu, or c) the ability to connect online to upgrade/downgrade.

You can't do a) because you made a backup of your wii's nand after it was already bricked. You can't do b) because you can't navigate the wad manager menu's without working wiimotes. You can't do c) because you need to set up a new connection, but cannot because you can't access the system menu.

You could try to get a different router and hook it up at your house. I'm not sure if a new connection will be needed to be set up, but it might work if you just plug it in like your old one. If you can't restore your nand, install wads, or connect online, I don't see how anyone could fix your wii.

I repaired my router. I dont even know how I bricked my wii because I didnt install any wads, the only thing I did with my softmodded wii was installing apps in HBC using homebrew browser. That wadmanager 1.4 ninja mod thingy worked fine with gc controller, I just need to know how to (re)install system menu 4.0...

Btw is it true that 4.1 is released in euro and usa? If I could install that by wads, it might solve my problem... does anyone know about that wad?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
