i currently have a softmodded wii (twilight hack) with version 4.0U... i was unsure about downloading new updates for fear of entire removal of homebrew.
the 4.0 update i have, unfortunately, is through nintendo... which has caused me the inability of playing WAD files from the SD menu (also, if anyone knows how i can still play wads on the SD menu please let me know!!)

ANYWAY, i was wondering if there is a safe way i can update to 4.3, without homebrew disappearing and without my wii possibly bricking.
my reason is mostly because i have a few wiiware games that i bought from the shop channel (which i also deleted back in the day when we had to 'clean out the fridge')... so i can't get to the wii shop channel because it requires this update to 4.3.

please help a n00b out!

i think i found what i needed, in the guide there was a link for "safely updating to wii 4.2", which updates without deleting homebrew. just what i was looking for. thanks!

  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@K3Nv3, not bad at all, just make sure it comes with new batteries or else you'll have to put new ones in it yourself (not hard)

Waiting for the NUC 14 essential to become available here 🤔
  • Issac @ Issac:
What's the best NUC to get as a first NUC, as a NUC noob. I want one that I can have always on - run a monitoring server and some home automation stuff - as well as possibly doing some devving by connecting to it through SSH
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
You honestly don't really need anything that powerful for that imo an old 2010 laptop could do it
  • Minox @ Minox:
@Issac I'd argue the NUC 14 essential is a good compromise for speed, price and low power usage
  • Issac @ Issac:
mhmm, mhmm... Most important for me, in that case, would be silent, power efficient, and form factor.
  • Minox @ Minox:
That's at least why I want to get it

    Oh nice @Minox

2000~3500 sek depending on what model you want
  • Minox @ Minox:
Only needs RAM + SSD on top of that
