I had Wiiload working on my Windows Vista PC and I had to reformat the drive.

I'm trying to set it up again and I can't get it to work.

I followed everything I could find about intergrating it into the shell so I could just right click on a dol or elf, but noting worked.

A DOS prompt would flash up for a half sec and the dissappear before I could read what it said and nothing on the Wii.

I though maybe I was intergrating it in the shell wrong, but I tried some of the applications that supposedly do it for you and northing.

I even found the file I made last time to install the registry edits and it didn't do anything different.

Tonight I figured I would try dropping a dol on the Wiload.exe file directly like it says to do at http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Wiiload and nothing different, so at this point I know it is not the shell intergration, but something with Wiiload and my network.

I do have the environmental variables set as WIILOAD and my IP address of 192.168.1.195.

My network is working becuae I can reach the Wii thru FTPii and Filezillia at the same IP address.

Any suggestions arer greatly appreciated.

I'm really surprised that no one has any suggestions for this problem.
I would think with all the knowledgeable users out there I would get some help on this matter.

Thank you.

I will try that tonight when I get home even thought I don't recall it being that way when it worked before or on my son's system.

Edit: I checked when I got home and the enviroment variable was set to tcp:192.168.1.195, rebooted the system again and it still does not work.

I tried running it from a command prompt again and it did work this time.

So it must be my registry entries.

Should the file in the System32 directory be Wiiload.exe or just Wiiload?

My system variable are set correctly tcp:192.168.1.195 and I can get wiiload to work from a command prompt or if I drop a dol, elf or wad onto the wiiload exe file, but I just can not get it to work from the Windows shell.

The registry edits that I'm inserting during the merge step are as follows...

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dol\shell\Send to Wii\command]
"@=wiiload %1"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.elf\shell\Send to Wii\command]
"@=wiiload %1"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.wad\shell\Send to Wii\command]
"@=wiiload %1"

I could still always use my old android phone as a mp3 player but I get lost in the music and miss calls that way

It's been discontinued but you can find em second hand. It's the FiiO model K1.
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ nice. I've been using my BTR5 pretty much daily, got it in late 2020. Mostly use it as a desktop DAC though and the battery has already swelled up in it once, so I had to replace it. Some day I gotta grab a proper desktop DAC that doesn't have a battery lol

@K3Nv3, Yeah, cheap and nasty earbuds don't deliver the best mids, they end up sounding really muddy.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, I got mine around 2022 (iirc) and it was brand new, never opened, and for £15 too compared to paying nearly £30 elsewhere.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Sicklyboy, That sucks when the battery already begins to swell up. You considering on a desktop replacement, and if so, which one?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@SylverReZ damn 15 is shockingly cheap for that. Even 30 feels like a good price just given what a bunch of other FiiO stuff costs. Granted, not familiar with what those were originally selling for, so who knows lol

As far as a replacement for my BTR5, I don't really have my eyes set on anything specific yet but it'll likely be from either Fiio or Schiit Audio.

@Sicklyboy, Originally when it came out, they sold for around $40 USD according to FiiO's news bulletin. https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/54677.html

@Sicklyboy, I would prefer FiiO as the better brand for a USB DAC.

I feel like headphones reached a peak even ones from ten years ago sound better than new ones
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@K3Nv3, all depends how much money you wanna spend. I had skullcandy headphones and shit way back when but I never liked anything as much as the headphones (and earbuds) I use nowadays

@SylverReZ yeah fwiw I've been quite happy with my FiiO BTR5 so I don't have any specific reason to not a FiiO again. Just gotta see what's available and how much I'm trying to spend lol

I have the FiiO X1-ii, and love what it does, but the battery life is kinda ass and the sluggish, unresponsive menu makes me regret my purchase a little.

has anyone here played botw randomizer for switch?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
(not the wii u version, specifically the switch version)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Frankly not. That's like a 'cheat engine' for BoTW, right?
