Hi,
Could you help me with my fake chinese NES? I'm trying hack this box with hakchi2, and when I try the combination "hold RESET->Power on->RESET off" the diode won't turn off. I don't think it is antivirus issue. Windows 7.
Is that possible to hack fake chinese version like you do with original?

Nope.

Guys I have the following problem. I have the Hakchi2 v2.31 but the problem is that most of the time the restore point does not work. By that I mean that I can't create a restore point. And that is of RetroArch games.
I Hold down the Select + Down and when I go to the home screen I do not have a floating restore point waiting to be saved. This is happening on NES and Genesis games. It will only work around 2 out of 10 times. It is very frustrating!

I have tried changing the core but the issue is still there! Should I try older Hakchi2 versions OR new cores/retroarch?

You should be using Hakchi2 CE v3.5.3, it's the latest version still being updated. Sega Mini support is coming soon as well.

I picked up one of these used and already modded can I add more games?

yes, but without the database that the original person made, I think it will override what's on the system. could be wrong, but I think it does a clean install of what you have. I'd suggest reverting back to stock (you can find the stock NAND online. it's not system-dependent). after reflashing to stock, add in the games you want. you can do this without flashing to stock, but since you don't have the original database, it's probably best to start over.

^ Also no issues saving, even arcade games work fine for me. I read on another forum that RetroArch has a MAME 0.180 core, but it seems their site is down. What's the odds of getting that compatible for our humble NESCEs? There are some awesome games that unfortunately just won't work with the current cores. Eg. The Outfoxies.

Maaaan! Can you imagine if this game did?

As far back as the OUYA, I've tried to load this ROM on MAME to no success. Even on WiiU, there is no confirmation if this game works well.

Hi everyone,

I hacked my snes mini with hakchi 2.31 a few months back on my former pc setup.

Now, on my brand new setup I tried to access the snes with hakchi to add some games but I got an error message saying hakchi can't find the following file C:\users\my user name\appdata\local\temp\hakchi-temp\kernel\initramfs\key-file

So I thought it would be solved by searching this file on my former disk drive I used with my former setup but I simply can't find it, even in hidden folders.

By searching on google I found people saying to disable my antivirus while trying again, which I did and I got the same error. I also tried using the debug version of hakchi to try to erase the modifications and try again from square one but once I extract the kernel with hakchi debug and try to uninstall the hack, hakchi says I don't have any kernel backup.

I uploaded the debug notepad file hoping one of you could please help me !

I have a Dino Crisis in the German Version.
This has a copy protection in it.

I must put On the pc/android retroarch a sbi file to the image files.

Will that work on retroarch with the pscx rearmed core?

Is there any way to add the same game to my SNES twice? I want to have a Canoe and a Snes9X version next to each other in the menu. The thing is that hackchi recognizes that it's the same ID and simply overwrites the other game.

Can I change the IDs to add a duplicate?

I've never figured out a way to do this. I was trying to keep the aladdin enhancer games on there, but out of its six or so games, half of them used the same title id as the original release. I've never found a program to alter the id either.

There is a simple way!

@BJaxx87 drag a notepad file into the zip when adding it. It will change the checksum. IE: double_dragon.txt. Or, alternately, you can 7z the zip, then add it.

I tried it and it works fine. :)

have you ever gotten a C8 error? I've only got the error with the snes classic considering the entire rom set doesn't fit on the flash (only via usb). I did install the C8 deterrent, but it still happens sometimes when resetting or powering off.

No, never happened to me. Is it possible that your menu is too crowded? You shouldn't have more than 45 entries per page (or better 30-40).

which adapter and thumb drive do you use? I've read that it can happen with 30+ entries, so I made 25 now.

edit: btw, this is only with snes classic. I've never had a problem with the nes classic even when I had the entire no intro set installed.
