The folks at Jalopnik have gathered together the final list of all the cars and tracks for Gran Turismo 5, with the game featuring a total of 1031 cars, and 71 different tracks. We've got Acura to Volvo and anything in between, including a line-up of over 50 Nissan Skylines. It appears, however, that many of the cars are actually returning from Gran Turismo 4 for the PlayStation 2, which had a sizable line-up of cars of over 700 cars.

For the full list of cars, see below:

And the tracks:

Gran Turismo 5 will be released November 24th in North America and PAL regions, and November 25th in Japan.

1031 CARS!!??!? What is this game, some kind of car junkyard? I wonder how long it'd take to try them all...hmm...

But it seems like all that was wanted was "MOAR CARS" instead of putting effort into other parts of the game. I mean:

444 P/S Mazda éfini RX-7 Type R (FD) '91
445 S Mazda éfini RX-7 Type R (FD) '93
446 S Mazda éfini RX-7 Type RS (FD) '96
447 S Mazda éfini RX-7 Type R-S (FD) '95
448 S Mazda éfini RX-7 Type RZ (FD) '92
449 S Mazda éfini RX-7 Type RZ (FD) '93
450 S Mazda éfini RX-7 Type RZ (FD) '95
451 S Mazda éfini RX-7 Type RZ (FD) '96

... what the hell's the point?

The point is to improve a gamers knowledge about previous car models and their looks.
They should've added models up-to 2009 or if possible, 2010. What would that do? Oh nothing, just increase the tiny car roster by 3 times.

Would you really consider the small list in my above post to be 8 separate cars? Out of the total of 1031 cars?

Not hating the amount of cars, just curious as to why so many of the same but with different years. I guess the knowledge thing makes sense.

You think 8 is bad? Check out the GT-R/Skyline series, they've got like 60 of them. But they are there because each model probably performs differently from the others, enough to add into the game as a separate one.

Oh, and two major companies not featured in GT5 are Porsche and Saab. Porsche's license for video games was purchased by EA if I remember correctly.

i'm kind of confused about this car.

258 S Honda CIVIC SiR-II (EG) '91

having owned 5 variations of honda civics
a 1st gen crx
2 ef crxs
an ef civic hatch
and a 4dr eg.

Ive never heard of a 91 eg.

the eg didn't come about till 92. in 91 it was the ef chassis. i couldn't find any info about a 91 eg. if anyone has some more info on this car id like to see it. the only thing google came up with was this gt5 list.

Could've easily been a typo by the source site, because you are right, the EG didn't come out until 1992.

i was thinking that it was either a typo or there was a little known eg model released in late 91 in japan only. If it was the later i'm sure i would have known about it. in addition to my 5 civics my sister has owned a 4dr eg and fg2, and my mother has owned an ek4, an ep, and an fa9. my father even had an 83 cvcc back in the day. i curently own a mk4 vw gti 1.8t that i bought new almost 7 years ago, but i still miss my crx's. especially my 91 dx with the b18 swap. it was a fun little car. now i'm looking to either grab and old accord wagon to swap an h22 into or an audi a4 biturbo wagon. got a kid on the way. need a family car now. still want it to have some balls. i would still love to come across a jdm 2nd gen crx sir in the states. the right drive model with the glass roof and the b16a2 motor. that would be my baby for ever. I'd happily give my left nut for that car.

gt2 was one of my favorite ps1 games. it had a 1/4 mile track. my friends and i would bring our memory cards to one of our houses and drag race our best cars. i hope they include this mode in gt5. it wasn;t included in the last couple games.

The point is variety. I don't know about that specific line of cars, but alot of people prefer the certain yearly models. I know I do. Now I just wish I had a PS3.

Sure variety is great, and sure in real life people do have preferences over the slight differences you get on yearly models. But this is just a game, and I imagine the difference between a 95 and a 96 version of a car would be barely noticeable, so to me this does seem like an easy way to bump up the car count.

As for the game Im not really a huge fan of GT, I thought prologue was pretty crappy. But I am looking forward to seeing how this finally turns out after all the time it took to develop.

Some of these cars may not actually exist in the real world either, the was a 4-wheel drive Mitsubishi GT racer in GT1 that I used for the endurance races, it was a product of the programmer's imagination.
