Except for the screen which may make it warmer, heat should not be much worse than docked. The dock does not contain a fan. Battery, on the other hand, is another thing :)

Overclocking will heat the battery up, I thought someone had reported that their battery failed already due to overclock.

However, many of us carry large powerbanks so it should totally be worth it!

If you're always running it from external power then it essentially is docked.

It was never confirmed (as in he never opened the switch).
As far as I am concerned, this can just be a bend backplate.
Also that was at 2GHz CPU and 1GHz GPU on for weeks without even shutting down.

@m4xw you madman. This is what I longed over with the Switch for a while. I remember some games on the Vita that are more or less impossible to play WITHOUT OC. The forest scene... oh my!
Also I'm not afraid to "overheat" my switch since it got freaking protection against it... jesus people.

We still have the mitm service at our disposal :P
Just needs a nice frontend

Looks about the same as it does with 460mhz. Only additional thing you’ll get out of 768mhz is a destroyed battery

This is easy to test by comparing 460 mhz captures to 768 mhz. I will do this when I get home from work today. It will be interesting to see if it is worth it!

We tested it before and considered it not worth.
460 MHz is the sweet spot.

So you have already compared captures and done pixel counting on 460 mhz shots vs 768 mhz in GPU heavy games with dynamic res like doom and wolfenstein? No reason for me to do that again then. Very impressive if you get the same insane resolution leap by simply overlocking to 460.

Sure go ahead but the res will be capped w/o modding the game, it will probably not render higher no matter what you do.

There are probably people on this site that can help you with that. Or if you ask on Twitter :) (or if you guys are already doing it?)
We have it done already (actually since 2 months now), just needs a nice interface.
Got a bit side tracked with N64

Then put out a tweet or do a "competition thread". Then you guys pick like 5 you like and let people vote for it. People loved doing this on the 3DS for example for the Homebrew loader. I really enjoyed the thread as well.

When Smealum was finishing the Homebrew launcher for 3DS, he needed a nice gui interface. So he asked for help with the nice animations and it was so many suggestions so people started voting on it (I don't know if that changed his mind or not but...)

Same did @XorTroll with Goldleaf. He let people vote on the name. It engages people and it's a lot of fun.

Then you can give the creator proper credits in the readme.

Hm. We are kinda on it already, but I shall consider it

This is awesome! Upping the clock, even if it's just a bit, can help perfomance quite a lot. I believe heat wouldn't be much of a problem to be fairly honest, it can heat up and drain the battery real quick, but i doubt it would do actual damage [especially by the fact the Dock really isn't giving the Switch any additional air flow or anything]

Really looking foward to this ((:

Friggin' sweet! Nice job on the OC patches! But I can see that you're not planning on releasing them separately to the public. Will they be a part of your release of the frontend?

They will not be needed with the service.
