Hacking GPU handheld mode overclock (soon) available

I have tested the overclock that JK provided and I noticed a really big difference in image quality. But actually when playing in handheld to be able to see the difference the screen should really close to the eyes and when looking at the screen captures in my pc the difference is obvious. The image captured before the overlocking is too blurry and the one captured after the overclock is hugely better. Also strangely there is a big difference in size w\o overclock its 229ko and w\ overclock its 274ko.

The fuck? Changing the clock speed makes it more or less blur?
 
I personally think that adding a 768 Mhz GPU option for handheld would be kinda neat, but maybe going through a warning message before activating (even if it aint that dangerous at all)

460 Mhz helps a lot, but there are still games that could do better (L.A. Noire for example, still goes slow motion from time to time) or it rly would help dynamic resolution games.

Lower Textures (or in UE4 terms Texture Streaming for example) are used to lower memory requirements.
I'm aware of dynamic render resolutions, but looking at the pic by Kirby, that's literal blur. Like applying a filter to the camera. Looks absolutely bizarre to me

That's usually what they do with lower render resolutions, they upscale and don't just send it out jaggy.

Because it is rendered at a lower resolution and then upscaled to match the output resolution.
 
Here is m4xws 460 mhz oc vs jks 768 mhz oc. Again the difference is obvious. doesnt mean it is like this in many games. but at least in wolfenstein 2 a higher OC than 460 mhz will increase the resolution through the dynamic resolution built into the game. Will test doom next.

That just confirms me that the downside outweighs the benefits.

Do you mean that you do not find the increase in resolution substantial enough? Depends on the person I guess. I think the difference is very clear. Battery drain is another question though...

I find it not worth it as it will be barely noticeable on that small 720p screen to begin with.
