Hacking Good bits of 3.4

I haven't been on these boards in a while so I appologize if this has been asked/covered before...

Is there any way to install the good bits of update 3.4, namely Improved SD card read/write speed and Improved disc reading, without getting the bad stuff? Like we got with the October 23rd update.
