Homebrew Genesis Plus GX issues

Every version I have wont let me play certain games. They just crash with a code-dump error. So I get a version that doesn't crash, finally. I'm guessing it's a new ver. 'cause it looks 10x better and spiffier. Then, I discover to my horror: It wont display all of my games. I open my HDD, and I see that it lists roms from #-M, but nothing else. (I have every Genesis rom.) So I'm wondering what the hell to do? So I revert to an old version, and it works, it lets me see all of my roms, BUT, a bunch of them crash. . . ?

The normal genplus-gx versions have a 500 roms limit. You could try my version (second link in my signature), I have compiled it with 2000 roms limit!

eke-eke has upped the max rom limit to 1000 in the newest revision by default.

Yeah but to be honest Where do I get the new ver.? Everywhere I look, I get the super old one which wont even read my hard-drive.

if it "pisses you off" so much, why don't you put your ROM files in subdirectories ? Seriously, how difficult this is, not even mentionning that it is way faster to load and way more efficient to find the ROM you want to play ?

Well, people like to have the "full romset" installed, even if they are never going to play all these games and most of them are just the same version with a few differences. I think there isn't more than 2000 unique genesis and mega drive games anyway, and if you are gonna play them all, it's easier to make sub-directories rather than having to browse the WHOLE list everytime you want to pick one, seems a quite stupid move ...
