That would be good to converse with other members and have a general chat, aside from the forum

There's #GBAtemp and #NDStemp but you rarely see large or even medium gatherings of forum members there.

I think if there was a Java based IRC client on the website that you would have more people in chat.

The existing IRC rooms arent for chat, and you shouldnt try to have a conversation with anybody in there. I would reccomend just getting your roms and leaving
