Hello.:)

Did you use the skip bios intro option? That can cause issues sometimes. I think you can turn it off from twilightmenu, and otherwise delete the settings file from the _gba folder
3000st Post in your GBARunner Thread by the Way,my Freind. clap.gif

Thank you for still working/developing your "Baby".daumen.gif
Awesome like on the first Day (except the UI is now a "little" better...:rofl2:

Some good news btw, I've been working on integrating Normmatts open source gba bios in GBARunner2 today, and it is basically working now. I'll need to do a bit more testing, but very soon it shouldn't be necessary anymore to use a gba bios. Ofc you will still be able to use one for better compatibility.

Thank you and Greetings to him.:)

I mean, there was not much to test lately. I'm sure he'll be back.

how good is the compatibility list? it is improved since 1 or 2 years¿?
The compatibility list has been almost completely updated to the release of 21.04.2020 for both DS and DSi/3DS, thanks to efforts by @Dodain47 and a tiny bit by me. There was recently a new release that fixed some things like the mixing issues in Pokemons Ruby and Sapphire and made Contra Advance's sound effects play more correctly for the DSi/3DS builds. I haven't tested the latest build extensively, but only a couple of games with known issues with sound and those were the results I found.

To avoid anyone doing unnecessary testing here's some games I tested with no changes:

007 Nightfire - Still no sound
Klonoa Heroes - Still clicking sound
Glory Days - Still regular beeping sound
Hikaru no Go 2 - Still crackling sound in menu navigation.

Oh and @Dartz150 tested Mega Man & Bass and found the high note gb audio to still have the same issue.

I tried listening to Magical Vacation but I wasn't mentally prepared to check if its gb audio had improved or not. So anyone is free to test if something has changed there.

I have been trying gbarunner2 and have a couple of questions:

- On the compatibility list page you can see "Game runs faster with wram i-cache enabled." on a lot games. Well, how do u activate this option??

- By default the program seems to run GBA games on native resolution. It is there a way to make games to fit DS screen, without black bars? And change the screen u want to use it to play, top or bottom?

Thanks.

  • It's activated by default.
  • The only way would be to disable masking, but then areas outside the border would be seen.

Touch the touch screen and press R to access gbarunner2 settings. Alternatively there are settings in twilightmenu++'s settings if you're using that.

Good news! I've updated the feature/hicode branch. Currently, on dsi and 3ds, it supports a hybrid approach. It runs code like normal, but if it encounters hicode it will map that block into memory with the special technique I designed. It loads it into the cache, locks it into place and then changes the address using some debug registers. It is not very efficient, but it allows to run the code at least and I think it will definitely be alright for asm hacks and such. I would like to know if things work better with it.

Note that for the DS it is currently not supported yet because of the different memory layout.

Today I tried to launch DK - King of Swing using the build "v20200812-130512_d5dc8d8. There are fewer bugs, although there is still a menu palette bug and there are no indicators of hp and bananas in the game .
Super Ghouls´n Ghosts passed the first level without picking up the armor, the game did not freeze, but after killing the boss of the first level and picking up the key, the game froze(
Pitfall - The Lost Expedition dsi version gbarunner2 has graphical bugs and freezes when just the ds version works fine.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 dsi ver. gbarunner2 freezes after a couple of minutes of playing, ds version works fine.

HOW DO I USE MOTION SENSOR PATCH ON 3DS?
I wiki says about it being needed to play WarioWare Twisted, I try to look it up but I can't find anything. Gbarunner2 settings show no patches, as will as TwilightMenu settings.
I can't find anything on Google, the wiki doesn't link to it, only mentions that I should use it.

There's a part about it on top of the wiki about getting twpatcher by sono and the special gyro branch build. I believe that's what you need to do but I've never done it myself. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

I feel like an idiot, but I can't find it. Nowhere on GBARunner2 wiki page there's anything about it. I also looked through everything regarding TWPatcher and Twilight Menu. Can you please point it out for me?

Should be on the top of the dsi/3ds compatibility list subpage of the wiki.
