Good news! I received my is-nitro today. It's working and in perfect conditions, so soon I'll be back working on gbarunner2.

Breaking works already (I had to implement a fiq handler), but I want to add some stuff to prevent breaking during the abort handler. I yet have to implement the breakpoint opcodes in the undf handler to have proper breakpoints.

Mind telling me what all the is-nitro can do?
I tried go googling for it but only found fragmented information about how it's the ds dev kit and it's expensive on ebay.

It's a complete hardware debugger. It connects to a pc over usb. You can then upload a rom straight from your pc and run and debug it (both arm9 and arm7). You can break it, set breakpoints, peek in and modify the memory and registers. It also supports up to 2 hardware breakpoints (read and/or write in address range) and you can print debug messages. With the communication library you can also communicate with the rom from a program running on your pc for quick testing.

If you like I could take some screenshots of the debugging software later this week.

This is-nitro has no video or wifi option. Instead of wifi it has an ethernet port with the word WIRELESS next to it xD. It seems to be non-standard ethernet as my pc acted as if no cable was inserted, so more research is needed into that. I am probably gonna have a look with a logic analyzer. I want to try to convert the signals back to wifi using a fpga and a raspberry pi.

This is expected. It would have to run several aspects of the gba *very accuratley* to avoid the game pak error screen.
    Read about it here: https://mgba.io/2014/12/28/classic-nes/

Is this a new addition or did I just overlook it until now?
Does NitroFS vs. DLDI change much in terms of game speed?

It's a special dldi driver I wrote for use with the is-nitro. It reads a fat image from the nitro fs, but that doesn't work with a flash card, because GBARunner2 is not run in retail mode.

On a side note, if I would be able to use regular card commands and a gba rom in the nitrofs, that might be faster indeed.

Flashcards like the r4 have to be put in retail emulation mode. The rom file is then scanned to create a fat map on the card to allow quick access to the file in the sd card (by the hardware in the r4). This is however sadly not done when homebrew is detected and thus it's impossible to use the official commands for accessing the card.

Huh. That seems a bit arcane and maybe even flashcard-dependent.
Do you have any clues about what causes the flashcard to decide if a particular .nds is homebrew or retail? It doubt it's something as simple as the presence of a NitroFS.
