gatecrap is for piracy. It is leeching resource from the real developers, because any game on the gatecrap could be a lose for the real developers of those games.
Not necessarily. I use Gateway so I don't have to lug around 50+ games in a bag. That's why I use it. I dump my games.

They have included some cheats as well, cheat support for:

LEGO Star Wars III - The Clone Wars (USA)
Sonic Generations (USA)
Star Fox 64 3D (USA)
The Legend of Zelda - A Link Between Worlds (USA)
Yoshis New Island (USA)

Honestly, I suspect DSTWO+ will work fine with this update and with any future update, if SC made their GW emulation properly, which they probably did.
This is probably just a scare tactic from GW to stop people from buying the DSTWO+ instead of Gateway. Nintendo does the same sort of thing to scare people from using flashcarts/homebrew (check the agreement that appears when you try to update a Wii, Wii U or 3DS)

I'm confused... Does it only brick those using Ds2+ or everyone...?
People suspect that they have implemented code that bricks consoles of people using any GW clone. They did this a while ago, and it bricked many clone users' consoles, but it also bricked some genuine users' consoles by mistake.

Just when we thought Gateway ditched or died, they follow through and release a nice update that does more than just allow newer EmuNAND versions to be used. Hell yeah!

Depends on how well the brick code has been updated to detect DS2+. If DS2+ has high emulation accuracy it's possible it may mistake legitimate gateway cards for a DS2+. I have a feeling that they included the cheats PoC as extra incentive to update to a possibly unsafe launcher and see if the brick reports come rolling in. Personally I'll be avoiding it for a couple weeks at least.

I honestly highly doubt this update will brick anybody, they are most likely pointing out that the SC Team may have left some serious bugs in their emulation plugin, everyone calm the fuck down.
