i watch the youngsters picking up snes games in the US for next to fuck all in thrift stores on youtube and look on UK ebay and see most go for £10 minimum to buy over here and start to feel pissed off LOL, i have the classics still but there's so many more id like to re-buy from my youth.

Just get an Everdrive. I have one for each of my original consoles (NES, SNES, N64, Genesis).

are they worth the huge price tag? build quality n stuff?

Hell Yes. Every penny. If you get a genesis or SNES one there are two versions. The cheaper of the two are fine. For Genesis you loose the new networking support and the ability to play Peir Solar (aftermarket game made a few years ago). The Cheaper SNES one can't support the following games without sacrificing a Super FX chip from a real cart:
Suzuka 8 Hours
Super F1 Circus Gaiden
Super Bases Loaded 2 / Super 3D Baseball
Super Air Diver 2
Shutoko Battle 2: Drift King Keichii Tsuchiya & Masaaki Bandoh
Shutoko Battle '94: Keichii Tsuchiya Drift King
Pilotwings
Michael Andretti's Indy Car Challenge
Lock On/ Super Air Diver
Korean League
Final Stretch
Bike Daisuki! Hashiriya Kon - Rider's Spirits
Battle Racers
Armored Trooper Votoms: The Battling Road
Super Mario Kart
Ace o Nerae! 3D Tennis
Ballz 3D

These can't be supported on the cheaper cart at all:

Mega Man X3
Mega Man X2
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Star Ocean
Kirby's Dream Land 3
Kirby Super Star
Star Fox
Star Fox 2
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island

nope 4.x users where never in this position, yeah a long wait for multi-rom, but at least we had something we could actually use.

Agreed, but we were missing emuNAND and we were missing out on the eShop and that sort as well.

Still, the people I gave GW's for Christmas are probably getting sick of me saying "read on GBAtemp [insert prediction]" and having something essentially useless to them sitting around. I wouldn't be surprised if by the time it is released and I call them up the response is, "Let me see if I still find it, and don't remember what I did w/ it." :-p

are they like rev 1 and rev 2 ?

No, Super Everdrive V2 ($80-90 USD) is current version of cheaper card. Other card (called SD2SNES and costs $190-200 USD) isn't made by everdrive guy (Krizz) but he resells them and their way more expensive yet have an onboard processor to emulate the other specialty chips.

yeah i have been hoping to pick one up at some point, but as a collector, if i have that kind of money spare there is always an original that grabs my attention

Agreed. I have a few originals as well. Just like I have about 10 3DS carts - all of which I bought around the same time as my Gateway...

Just letting ya'll know, you can't use that "Soon" clock GIF in your signature. It exceeds file size limits for images in signatures. I believe the limit is currently 80KB. ;)
does that apply for externally hosted images?

hmm yeah probably for people on slow connections i suppose...idk ill see what happens i think ;)

EDIT...ok it happened :rofl2:

Next person to set that as their signature is getting a warn. Filesize limits are 80kb COMBINED (technically combined between avatar and signature as well, but we generally agree that 80kb signature alone is fine) and 500x150px COMBINED dimensions

Rules, people. Spoiler alert, we have them. https://gbatemp.net/help/terms
