Why did they tell everyone that's not on 4.5 then to update to the latest (at the time) 9.2 If they can add support going backwards.

Foresight. If you don't know the possibilities at an early stage of development, you don't make promises.
Now it turned out to be less dangerous than expected to remain on lower FWs.

so they dont have 101 extra people hounding them for an update in the meantime maybe
or maybe they just weren't 100% sure they could backport it at the time.....maybe it just turned out to be easier than they thought it would be or they were ahead of schedule and decided to just do it

yeah i know they could have native themes support too !! but i guess 4.5 has one huge advantage over all firmwares & that's why they said stay at 4.5,the advantage is when you want to format system nand on 4.1- 4.5 you don't have to connect online to nintendo's server to check for sys update in order to format so 4.1- 4.5 remains the safer firmwares if anything ever goes wrong with sys nand.

I think the main reason they are supporting older firmwares is so that they can advertise that they support all of them. They'll probably support all the firmwares that Ninjhax supports. 4.0.0-7 to 9.2.0-20.

depends on if they made the blue card up-datable.....i don't think they would of even considered the use of adding updatability to a card that was only ever designed to install a exploit on 4.x.....but who knows maybe they plan to as i seem to remember seeing a email saying to keep hold of the blue card as it may be useful in future.....actually they could probably just disable the whitelist in 9.x so any and all3ds compatible NDS flashcards work

The Blue card is a DS flashcart. It can be used to play DS games on any 3DS on 6.3 or below. It was blocked after 6.3. Gateway uses the Blue card to run the first part of their exploit on 4.1-4.5 3DSs. But really you could use any DS flashcart that works with the 3DS to install Gateways exploit on 4.1-4.5. I've used the DStwo to install it on my son's 4.5 3DS. I've never used the Blue card for anything.

I ordered a gateway the 4th december from yeahgeek, mailed the 5th, left Hong Kong since the 8th and still no news (status stuck since the 8th). I'm worried, I really want it before xmas ... :'(

So you are telling me that ship to Germany take 8 days but France 21, wtf ?

you should have it tomorrow or early next week.slight delay is expected as postal services usually very busy this time of the year.
