Hey guys,

So I've been noticing that upon installing a .nsp with tinfoil and it's latest update, when opening a the game I get prompted with "A new update is available. It will be downloaded now". Any idea why I'm getting this ? When I go ahead and select start software it will start up but the version still has not changed even though I've installed the update. I've done some searching and have not found any answers. I'm using latest reinx, tinfoil, fw 6.0.0 and sdcard formatted to exfat. Also the switch is in airplane mode with not wifi networks saved. Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Are you sure you have the latest update for said game?

Yup ! So for example after installing wolfenstein I installed the the 1.2 update. But when I open the game it gives me this prompt and when I continue and launch the game the version is below 1.2

Are you using a pro controller?
Most of the games I've tried using it with required an update to play them with the pro controller.

No unfortunately I'm not. Still haven't figured this out. I have not been online. The switch was put in airplane mode on first startup.

I mean, I've installed the updates when prompted and haven't been banned yet, but that doesn't mean I recommend it.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
