Full vWii Softmod

I've extracted the hackmii but all its files are in a folder that is called "hackmii_installer_v1.2" is it correct?

Also when I've softmodded my Wii I've used a 4gb SDHC kingston and I didn't have problems. Shall I use the same again?

Lego Batman savegame exploit; download and extract in folder SD :\private\wii\title\RLBX (X is a variable letter related to your Lego Batman Wii region: E = PAL, P = NTSC, J = JAP) <-- (necessary to launch vWii executable files from the root of SD card)

HackMii Installer (at least version 1.2 - alternative download link here); download and extract in SD root <-- (to be launched when using the above exploit in order to install The Homebrew Channel, a very useful homebrew)

d2x cIOS Installer Mod v2.2 (this version patch on the fly original IOSes dumping them directly from your vWii); download and extract folder in SD :\ apps <-- (needed to install cIOS)

d2x cIOS; download and extract folder INSIDE d2x cIOS Installer Mod v2.2 folder; choose version d2x-v10-beta52-vWii or d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii according to this pros/cons official chart:

(d2x cIOS is a Custom IOS necessary to execute Loaders)

Configurable USB Loader Mod; download and extract in SD :\apps ; if something is not working for you it is alternatvely possible the use of Wiiflow or USBLoader GX, other 2 great loaders ! Remember to use the loaders .DOL file and NOT the WAD installation channel and/or forwarder ! Old Wii WADs may lead you to brick the vWii mode if not correctly recompiled for vWii !). <-- (Loaders are needed to launch game backups)

So after extracting all those homebrews in the correct folders of your SD root (2 or 4 GB) that MUST NOT BE SDHC (if SDHC the bathaxx exploit cannot be run) proceed to step 1.

STEPS

1) Start Virtual Wii (vWii) from WiiU dash and ONLY AFTER IT SHOWS UP insert the prepared SD card (if you insert it earlier the savegame can be deletd)

2) Install exploited savegame
In vWii mode go to Options -> Saved Data -> SD Card -> Click on the icon related to your game version -> select COPY -> YES

3) Execute exploit/Install HBC
Go back to vWii menu ad launch the game -> load the saved game (100%) and you will found yourself in the bat-cave; take the right elevator -> enter the trophy room and get into the upper-left door to go to "Wayne Manor" -> with nunchuck bring the cursor over the enabled character in the lowest row (see minute 1:03 of the following video) to execute the exploit (boot.elf). Follow on-screen procedure to complete HBC Install.

NOTE: remember to use, as already said, a NON-HC SD card

4) Backup vWii mode keys
From HBC launch xyzzy -> select "SD Card" when requested -> press A -> wait 10-20 seconds (ignore error messages) -> when asked press A to go back to HBC; the file will be copied in SD :\keys.txt

5) Backup vWii mode NAND content
Start HBC -> launch latest version of the great Dump Mii NAND tool (by Maxternal) tool;
the automatic dump procedure will last from 20 to 60 minutes (in my experience it depends on the SD card you are using); the files (nand.bin and keys.bin) will be dumped in sd:/apps/DumpMiNND/ folder; at the end of the dumping procedure your WiiU will reboot.

6) Dump your IOS for eventual vWii semi-brick fix (optional step but recommended !)
Launch YetAnotherBlueDumpMod
Go to System Titles and dump each IOS individually to a wad.
When prompted to fakesign the ticket or TMD, say No to both. It's a tedious process, but it could save a lot of trouble in the future.

If you don't have CLEAN IOS, you won't be able to fix semi-bricked vWii.
You can't create wads from a NAND dump or from using ShowMiiWads. You NEED to use YetAnotherBlueDumpMod.
so please, don't skip this step (but you can do it after step 7 if you want).

7) Install d2x cIOS on different bases/slots
Start HBC and launch d2x cIOS Installer Mod v2.2 -> press a wiimote key ->
- at "Select cIOS" press right and select "d2x-v10-beta52-vWii" or "d2xv10-beta53-alt-vWii"
- at "Select cIOS base" select "56"
- at "Select cIOS slot" select "249"
press A to install -> cIOS 249 installed.

Repeat the above procedure for IOS57:
- at "Select cIOS" press right and select "d2x-v10-beta52-vWii" or "d2xv10-beta53-alt-vWii"
- at "Select cIOS base" select "57"
- at "Select cIOS slot" select "250"
press A to install -> cIOS 250 installed.

Repeat the above procedure for IOS58:
- at "Select cIOS" press right and select "d2x-v10-beta52-vWii" or "d2xv10-beta53-alt-vWii"
- at "Select cIOS base" select "58"
- at "Select cIOS slot" select "251"
press A to install -> cIOS 251 installed.

8) Now you can execute your preferred homebrew (that needs a cIOS) under HBC. Some homebrews can request IOS236 (see optional steps below on how to install it)

1) Download IOS36-64-v3864.wad (look for "sendspace kl6o78" and download the .rar file from sendspace - thanks to someone of that forum for that hint), extract the .WAD and place it in your SD root

2) From HBC launch IOS236 Installer MOD v7 Special vWii Edition and follow on-screen steps to install cIOS236.

WIIFLOW CHANNEL FORWARDER INSTALLATION

1) Download Wiiflow Channel Forwarder WAD

2) Copy it in your SD card, preferibly in SD :\wad folder

3) Install it from Multi Mod Manager homebrew -> Wad Manager option

are we ok with just using the non sdhc on with the homebrew or are we stuck using it for all the homebrew? i had to borrow a 1gb sdcard to run the hack but are we stuck with it the whole way through?

Deeply sorry if it bothers anyone for asking.

But I followed this guide step by step a month or two ago and got everything working flawlessly. (Been using Wiiflow in order to play backups).
Sadly I was an idiot and had auto-update on, and since moving to 5.4.0 it won't work anymore, I get to Vwii's HBC, and even load Wiiflow but once I try to play a backup it won't. After reading the stickies and most of the threads on the first pages I came to think the update would only mess with actual WiiU hacking/browser exploit, etc. which I don't care about but I thought nothing would happen to vWii. Clearly I'm mistaken.

Is there anything I can do to get it back to work? Should I just patiently wait for a fix? can I downgrade? is it normal that this also screwed up?

there will be no fix, because nothing has changed.
Like you said, 5.4.0 didn't change vWii files.

if it stopped working, it's something on your side, (settings, or hardware/sd/usb)
maybe verify that your cIOS are still here (just in case 5.4 deletes them without launching vWii, but I highly doubt that).

I have problem with step 7. When i install cIOS 249 and cIOS 250 i have red error on the bottom (green lines comming to end and then some red error on the bottom). But when i install cIOS 251 i have reloading ( icant rember exactly what but it exit the app) . I dont want to brick my wii u. All other steps exept 6 finish allredy. When i start cios installer i have red sign cios installed it will be overwriten. Sorry for my english. When i try to start wiiflow i have wiiflow logo and nothing else i have to switch off console from power source. Please help me. Can i still update wii u in the future?? My firmware is 5.3.2E.
Edit cios249 and cios 250 is passing without error but cios251 i have dump or something on the screen and exiting in 10 sec. Please help me.

Hello, pretty new to this. I have been working to get my vWii U modded and am running into some trouble. I completed all steps without a hitch and now it's time to get a channel forwarder to that I can actually rip games to the HDD. When I go into Homebrew, then MMM I go to WAD manager and no matter which channel forwarder I try to install they always fail. I've tried 5 different ones to be sure it wasn't any kind of fluke. Any suggestions on where to start or what info I need to give you? MMM is 13.4 FYI,

I have a Japanese WiiU with 5.4.0, I know people are saying its possible to install the HBC and play gamecube as well, but are there any differences i should be aware of for the process?(i.e. Files/games)

Has anyone got working files for smash bros brawl EUR version at all (the link on wiiubrew is dead)?
I found some files for it somewhere, but can't for the life of me get em to work (always get no save data when trying to load it) and brawl is the only game i have from the list in first post.
Or am i doing something terribly wrong? lol

When it says to select cIOS, it doesn't give options to select "d2x-v10-beta52-vWii" or "d2xv10-beta53-alt-vWii", only gives option of d2x v3-v6. Can someone help me with this? Thoughts/help greatly appreciated

- I installed the HBC, but the one with the blue instead of green launch screen. Can I update it to the latest version? If yes, how?

- HBC is not full screen, how can I fix it?

you need to select between v10 or v10-alt and extract it to your d2x folder.

HBC has green screen ? are you sure it's not a mod?
some modded version of HBC (or more exactly a forwarder to launch hbc) exists, and they are used to launch HBC in widescreen.

to fix HBC not in full screen : install one of joostinOnline HBC forwarder (the color you want) or install aspect ratio fixer homebrew. launch that homebrew first before any other homebrew.

Need help!
I tried to install homebrew on my Wii U (Europe, FW5.5.0) with Smash Stack, but always resulting the same result:

Cleaning up environment...eventbook release failed with code ok.
sd card detected
opening boot.elf:
boot.elf not found (-1)
usb gecko not found
no code found to load, hanging.

I've tried to format my SD Card (not SDHC) to FAT and FAT32, downloaded several times the HackMii and Smash Stack and nothing...
Any sugestions?

I made the mistake of selecting the wrong save data file. Now when I try the correct one it say the file already exists. Is there a way to clear it and try again?
