Final Fantasy Legends-Warriors of Light and Darkness
A brand new FF game, not a remake, that uses 2D graphics, job, ATB systems, up to 5 party members in battle and a logo by Yoshitaka Amano, coming on September 2010.
What could possibly go wrong?
the platform, it's for japanese mobile phones.
Will update post as info comes.

Yeah, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (or whatever that sequel was called) was also a mobile phone game before coming to Wii-Ware. If it's a good enough product, SE will port it and milk it for all its worth.

Apple/Motorola will no doubt get a port for their Apple/Droid online stores.
Nah, WiiWare sounds much more probable. They've alredy done it with The After Years and Crystal Defenders.

Is the character design going to be done my Amano as well or just the logo? The idea of a new FF with his character design sounds very appealing.

WiiWare? Portable?

Seeing as how it is staring on mobile phones in Japan, the first logical decision would be to expand on the same platform outside of that area first. If it even does well that is.

But they never ported one Final Fantasy game which was on a mobile phone, it was the FF VII Crisis Core, the one about the Turk's rise to power within Shinra.

I never heard of that going anywhere else except some Japanese mobile phones. Games on phones just suck so much...

Although I've also seen a bunch of decent iPhone games lately. But I'll have to agree that most games on "dumbphones" really suck.

i saw their site back when E3 was going on and they announced that game to be out for the DS.

Uh, no. I think you're confusing it with the 4 heroes of light.

Pfft. Title's misleading. I completely believe the platform! Had they been porting it to A Loaf Of Bread or The Underbelly Of A Giraffe, i may have been unbelieving... however, mobile phones, yea, been done.

(i know that an FF4 sequel & Chrystal Defenders was on Jap phones, but was there a KH game only on phones in Japan as well?)
