It will be in Gamestop's at some point tomorrow.

Everyone should know by now how game releases work.

It seems that everywhere I see a date for arrival in stores, they're saying Nov 29 now.

Did you guys see the 1up review? Not good at all (D-), though reader reviews are bashing the official review as ridiculous. Couple the 1up review with the low score of 4/10 by Nintendo Power and the game isn't sounding too good.

But here's the thing, those people refuting the 1up review say this-and-that about the game as if they played it, yet there are NO stores around me that have it, in fact, Gamestop says none within 100 miles of me (even though their site says "Usually ships within 24 hours" for a few days now), so how do those readers know anything about the game? I mean come on, where did it get released if it is in fact out there somewhere? Did it release in some place where 56k modems are still considered marvels of technology or something? I live in a major metropolis and it is nowhere to be found. Where did these people acquire the game to be able to play it? Can ANYONE here confirm it as currently released in a store somewhere, anywhere? And if it DOES exist in a store and people got their hands on it and are playing it, why haven't those people dumped it for the scene, assuming they're not just idiots that don't know how.

Geez, how hard is it to dump DS games? Not very, especially if you have both a slot1 and slot2 cart. Dump the ROM, upload it to a file hosting site, PM the admin of a ROM site with the link (NOT GBAtemp) and within a day, the ROM will be everywhere. Simple as that.

I've spent the last few days searching for the game in a store somewhere. I've come to the decision to just say screw trying to find it anymore. Either it eventually gets dumped and I DL it or I'll just forget about the damn game altogether.

Yeah, I also read the 1Up review. His description of the controls wasn't quite clear for me, but it does concern me a bit. I don't mind a simple hack & slash, and though it might look like Elder Scrolls for DS, I certainly wasn't expecting that. But if the controls are botched, then I'll surely move on quickly. If it plays like any other typical first-person adventure/shooter on DS, that's fine by me. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

But the comments on that review are complaining about the review, look:
"Is it perfect? of course not. However giving this game a D- is a bit of an abomination in my mind. One would almost assume the reviewer didn't actually like playing games. Actually, looking at his record, I believe he has only reviewd two games this year, with one being Fighting Fantasy: Warlock of Firetop Moutain."

"Site that gave Orcs & Elves 'A' scored Fighting Fantasy with 'D-'. Are you insane ? Not only that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the game but the game is by far the best RPG I played on DS"

"I didn't find the controls to be that bad at all. Use the stylus and everything plays just fine, not nearly as bad as what's mentioned above... not even close actually. "

"I played Orcs and Elves (which you guys gave an A-... what's up with that o_O) and I'd take this over that any day."

"The controls work the same as they do in Metroid Prime. Just use the stylus to look around and the D-Pad to move, it's really quite good. "

Maybe the reviewer didn't got used to the controls? A lot of people says that Metroid Prime Hunters and MW:Mobilized are hard to control but for me they have an excellent gameplay.

@edit: Sorry Rayder, now I saw your post.

Yeah, I think the main issue, for me anyway, is whether or not the 1Up reviewer understood the controls of the game. From his description, he was using the D-pad to move his character, and the face buttons to move the character's view. That is a lot different than your typical DS FPS. I have a feeling, though, that's not quite correct. The folks who commented on the review suggest the controls for FF are on par with traditional FPS on the system, but like Rayder said, how do they know? They claim to have already played the game, knowing the story and everything, yet the game hasn't been released. Who knows...

A few people on the gameFAQS board claim to have the game as well.
I'm going to disregard these two review scores and play the game. I've been looking forward to it for so long, I don't even care what other people say.

Personally I have been waiting for this game since I heard about it last summer, the last I heard of it, it's the closet thing to an Elder Scrolls for the DS and I have been waiting since I got a DS for a game like that to come...or at least for someone to port Elder Scrolls Arena to the DS, but that dream died so long ago.

Yeah this is probably the first time I'm going to disregard the 'big reviewers' since their scores don't seem accurate.

The company that made the game probably refused to give them any money to say the game was good in the reviews. We KNOW that kind of stuff does happen.

I think so too, plus what's up with the Nintendo Power review? It seems rather rash on an unreleased and at the time unfinished game.

Yes, this would be the best idea ever! The game is free, but I don't know if any reimplementation is currently developed, even on PC.

Well it's not like it would be impossible the ds has proven it can handle some pretty high powered game (like Kingdom Hearts) and it's not like the game just turned free, it's been free for quite along time now.
