ROM Hack FFTA2 Translation Patch Releases

Wow, I haven't checked this project for quite a while. I come back, and what do I find? Hazey has infiltrated the thread!

Just wanted to know - what's up with the 0.6.8 source? Do we need it to contribute? Or is does the 0.6 version work fine? I would compile it myself but because I don't know much about python (or programming in general, for that matter) I don't want to mess anything up and ruin it for everyone else.

Ohh yeah 0.6 is can only edit the menus and items ect ect, & the 0.6.8 can translate all that + the storyline.

Ok, I'm not really sure what I'm doing. I got the 6.8 binary, but how do I patch the rom, or make a pff file? If I click "Generate Patched Rom", then it always gets up to the repacking pc archive part, then the program freezes.

Oh no, not Hazey again !
About 0.6.8 versus 0.6 : story + graphic edit teaser.
Gameplay translation is 90%, story text can be splitted between descriptions and dialogues, descriptions is 20%, dialogues is 5% but start of the game as been translated and a lot of mission objectives too (it's the first line of dialogues).
There's a bug crashing the game after some missions.

The 0.6.8 is the latest unstable editor we have released. When you use it, you get the latest translations we have made.
Remember that the 0.6.8 is a source release, so you will need python 2.5, wxwidgets unicode patch python image library.

Yes about this the screenshot on romhack looks bad because they have not added japanese font...

Quick question: Do you need the latest editor for the latest patch? or could you stick with an old version and just get the new patch?

I think you meant this: When you are using the latest editor 0.6.8 you can use it as a patcher. Only problem is that this editor is still unstable, so it will cause crashing after mission complete atm. But the stuff we have translated until now is available in this newest version.

Thanks you guys, i didn't get to thank ya before cuz i was at home (i have no internet at my place, only at my mom's)

but i got a problem with auctions, it crashes after every auction (so i haven't been getting my supply of free equipment lately lol) considering i patched with 6.7, i was hoping that this was a resolved issue, maybe later when i get the free time i could get some auctioning in

tell me that this latest one has got no crashes, cuz to go from crashing after auctions to crashing after missions or classchanges would be undesireable lol

strange, I had no problem here but maybe auctions have changed since. Have you try validating tables ? This way there's great chances you could fix yourself the issue...

Hehehe, i'll have to admit, im a little slow when it comes to this stuff

unfortunately i haven't got the time to try which is a real problem...

it freezes exactly when the auction ends, right after you get all the prizes.... the guy says something like 44:88 or somethinhg like that and then nothing....

im gonna try redoing the patch, maybe its already fixed

I too had that problem mentioned above. After the prizes, the guy says something and where the menu for the lower left should pop up it instead freezes.

... i havent patched it with the new .6.8 - it somehow freezes up on me. But anyhow, i'll try patching again soon and tell the results...

i think i did find the cause: unfinished translations in 0133 story dialogue 0033. (i just added '(unfinished tranlation)' so it will work for now)

ummm dling the story updates is taking forever & a day to DL via editor

perhaps there is a way to do this quickly, im clocking in at 15 minutes at the moment and only 3 "ticks" done
