ROM Hack [Fan-Translation] Fire Emblem: If (Fates)

I am currently doing this for my friend now but I'm having problems getting the first step done. I downloaded the fates files through serene and I can't seem to get this done properly.

EDIT: So I opened up RomFS Builder.exe, ran the program > opened gen_romfs to get the file > put the file in the hans folder in SD > open the game and put the region to US and loaded up the game but it doesn't work.

EDIT AGAIN: I can't seem to load it up; it freezes up when loading. What am I doing wrong?

EDIT AGAIN AGAIN: So when I open the RomFS Builder.exe, I get the folder from rom in the translation folder right? Well that's what I did. One question though, I am patching this only for my friends Conquest ver.

You should put region to "JPN".

The patch files include Birthright, as well. You're going to have to manually remove files that you don't need in order to get it to work.

Would it be possible for you to release the script (like a dialogue script for each chapter on a single webpage/document)? I've regrettably updated my 3DS firmware long ago... It'd be awesome if people who couldn't patch to have access a translated script.

I didn't even think about asking for a script until now T T. I hope it doesn't hurt to ask.

@LinkmstrYT I've watched some of your videos (primarily the translated paralouges) and was wondering how you grind for those delicious max stats if you could let me know that'd be great. I have access to DLC on my JP 3ds...thanks in advance!

Just wondering, will it eventually be possible for HANS users to play Revelations with the translation? I'm on the latest official firmware so HANS is pretty much my only option.

Sadly, there's no way to get Invisible Kingdom/Revelations to work with the English patch with HANS. You're better off playing Revelations when it officially releases in English.

RIP. I managed to snag the special edition for the NA release, but my sister has been moping around and emitting "I want the SE" vibes so I ended up telling her that I'd give her my copy.

I was kind of hoping I'd be able to play the non-NA-ified version of Revelations with this patch but mm...yeah I'll probably end up buying a regular version and Revelations from the eshop. Thanks for the reply

Late update (12-15-2015):

• All the paralogues have been translated.
• Got a few new translators.
• Birthright (Hoshido) path is completely finshed.
• Conquest (Nohr) path is almost done. Just one more chapter.
• DLC stuff, still trying to figure out how to get it to work.
• Invisible Kingdom/Revelations is being translated.
• Around 5-6 chapters left to translate.

• My Castle dialogues have been mostly translated. Mostly. They're being worked on.
• DLC stuff will be translated/tested SOON™. Progress: Patching process is being worked on, atm.
• A lot of miscellaneous stuff being worked on.

I wonder if they're not the same dubious translations for the patting heads minigame, where the translator intentionally tried to word stuff as if it was a porno (like "ooh it's throbbing"... about her own heart going doki doki) for some kind of ulterior motive on Tumblr and circles like that. Gamefaqs have lots of good translation guides for PS1/PS2-era stuff (Tales series for ex.), but for this specific game I'd be weary of random online comments.

By the way, I'm curious, which files contain the character tags?
As in, the file that contains the character tag and the text Associated with it, I'll probably end up doing stuff like Changing every instance of Niles for Zero on the scripts, but I would need to know where the actual Tag is located.
