FromSoftware's highly anticipated new game, Elden Ring, is out in only ten days, and publisher Bandai Namco has just announced the system requirements. The minimum system requirements are beefier than expected, especially considering the game will also be releasing on previous-generation consoles, with PC players needing 12GB of RAM to run the game, plus either an Nvidia GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580 and either a Intel Core i5-8400 or an AMD Ryzen 3 3300X. I'm glad it isn't too aggressive on the GPU front, a ""friend"" of mine claimed it was going to require an RTX 2070 for minimum settings and an rtx 3060 for recommended, what a load of bullshit from them but it still had me worried tbh.

I want it. By the way, I am going to stick with PS5/PS4. Less hassle.

Agreed, Ps5 all the way.

2022 and the "PC gaming is more of a hassle" argument still exists? There is little to no hassle. I can't believe how overblown that sort of statement still is.

Anyway, bought it already for Series X because I was certain my 1070 wasn't going to be able to handle it. Oh well.

My main rig is creeping closer and closer to the 'minimum' specs for games and it makes my wallet cry. My 6GB 1060 needs to hold out another year or two for prices to hopefully come down.

Clicking the download button and the launch button is a real hassle. At least use a real reason like fear the RCE bug won't be fully fixed. Ps: i tried the demo on ps4, it runs like absolute garbage. Wouldnt recommend it unless its your only option. I assume ps5 is better.

You should be fine. Devs tend to test these things with one or two presets and call it a day. If you think about it, there's only a ~30% difference between the 1060 that they're calling "minimum required" and the recommended 1070. I'd guess that this minimum is for something around 1080p at medium settings.

No, this game is more of a hassle, silly. Not any PC gaming, thought. I have PC and PS4 and PS5 for the different reasons. ^_^

Jesus, maybe it's time for an upgrade from my poor little Ryzen 3 2200g. Thankfully I'm good on the GPU front, it'll definitely have to work hard but should do alright.

Hmm not bad. my GTX 1660ti might handle it at Medium-High at best, but hopefully it won't suffer from memory leak on day one.
Naturally, NVIDIA might release a Game Ready driver for this game.

I wish we would get actuall benchmarks instead of this requiements bullshit.

"hey you will be able to run the game with this hardware... at 20 fps but you will be able to run it!"
Guess I have to wait for the real benchmarks to see if my 1070 will actually be good enough to run this at atleast 60 fps.
