    PATCH PROGRESS:

    The game "BASIC" is done 100% all in english, you can enjoy all game menu, all operation,
    shops and "talk", with no problems

    [NEXT]
    -right now we are working on zuburo village (the guardians village)
    and we have to translate the game quest and message from the area (forest etc)

    *NEW UPDATE SOON*

    -Data\Message Menu: 100% (Completed)
    -All Character\Guardian Menu: 100% (Completed)
    -All Robot Menu\Talk: 100% (Completed)
    -All Kitchen Menu\Talk: 100% (Completed)
    -All Mechanic Menu\Talk: 100% (Completed)
    -Quest Office Menu\Talk: 100% (Completed)
    -Action Button: 100% (Completed)
    -Museum 100% (Completed)
    -Items and Weapons: 20%
    -Zuburo Village Menu\Talk: Not Yet
    -Area Message: 5%
    -Other: 10%



    GUIDE

    -You have to dump your game DVD (iso) and extract these 4 original file from the iso
    THEY ARE IN: FFX\
    you need to extract 4 files: etcmessage.ffx, ffxfile.pac, gamemessage00.ffx, sysmessage.ffx.

    -then open ppf patcher and made 4 patch (one for every original file)
    EXAMPLE
    open ppf o matic and in ISO FILE you need to put the original file from the iso
    (example choose etcmessage.ffx)
    now in the PATCH you need the same file but in .ppf
    (choose etcmessage.pff)
    NOW CLICK APPLY
    you have done!

    now you need to do the same with the last 3 files.

    -when you have finished to patching, you need wiiscrubber to put them back in the iso and save

    so go in the FFX\ folder and replace the files with THE SAME file name!
    EXAMPLE:
    etcmessage.ffx from the iso must be replaced with etcmessage.ffx (patched with ppf)

    -finish.


    DOWNLOAD THE PATCH HERE ----> REMOVED

    PLOT / ABOUT THE GAME:

    Game Flow
    The game is much similar to "Monster Hunter Style"
    -you have a lobby where you can buy and sell items or craft weapons
    -there is a hunter guild [​IMG] where you can buy quests and accept the job
    -there are some area\field, (like monster hunter) in this area you have to do the job (kill\capture monsters or collect items)

    [Pangea] (home/lobby)
    Places:
    Robot: To manage the items, save game and equipment changes.
    Quest Office: Information about take quests.
    Mechanic (shop): who makes the equipment with material obtained in the field.
    Kitchen (shop): you can buy items and food.
    Museums: Collection of sculpture and paintings.

    [Zuburo Village] (The guardian village)
    Places:
    Registration: you can change equipment for "Guardians".
    Bulletin board: get on board for exchanging information and search tips.
    Secret guardian: Guardian let you "change the name Guardians".

    Game Area 1# FOREST
    -Statue of Liberty is fallen, scattered forest with a baseball field

    Edit: Just tried playing this for a half hour, no clue whatsoever as to where I should go. xD
    Anyways, keeping a close eye on this thread. The game looks like it'll be awesome as soon as I figure out what do to lol.

    I see you already improved the front? Did you just replace it or was own editing needed.

    Also are you editing the text manully in a hex editor?

    As for the translation, I am not a translator but I want to get the game done [​IMG].

    You already found how to fix the font!

    I was wondering how the text was store, as for Xenoblade it needed a lot of extraction process to even find the text, and then there were string size limit and carriage return problem.

    It seems you have enough string size to translate with english words, that is a good news, like if the developers thought about translating it later hehe ;p
    The strings seems to include some event and pointers. thanks quantico for working on an editor. when you find a pointer purpose you may want to convert it in a nice looking element (like [pause] [clean] [close] [speed]xx ? etc.) it will help instead of typing ^t[xx]^p everytime [​IMG]

    Excellent idea, I'll look into that after I experimented with automatic pointer recalculation (if in case its possible).

    excellent job! right now we keep on translation and we did aLOT of works! (i and my friend) [​IMG]

    a menu patch and other things are almost done i think we can release it soon [​IMG]

    Needed help for this but it works!

    I can edit the normal ffx files freely as I want. Now only the pac file is left that has different headers and so on. Need to write another tool to work with the pac file.

    Hey, what exactly is "all"? All of the game text as in items, dialogue, quests, enemies and so on or just the menu stuff you have listed in the first post?

    If you want to save some money, wait 1-2 weeks (full patch will take t hat long anyway?). The game seems like a real bomba and will probably very cheap very soon.

    Also I am still working on the pac tool:

    Its not really hard, but there are like 10+ different files in there with often a own header. Whats really annoying is that some headers change their pattern somewhere and you constantly have to check if you really got all info, and if not adjust everything to get more data.

    I am about half way through the headers, will try to do some more in the next days.

    Um I've been curious, since I've been wanting to start a translating project like you guys too.

    What program do you use to edit the screen caps? Since I'd like to help out in anyway.

    Not sure where you get the screencaps from (unless you take them in game) but I'd like to know what software editing tool you use please ^^

    Keep up the great work too guys.
