._. It's just about the same as the iSMM...maybe I'm just lackluster because I have already tried the iSMM version, but it's not like it's really any different...
Btw, this note is for the people who ask about useless things like what it can do and how well it does things: Watch the video I have on the iSMM version and pretty much should answer all your useless questions.
For people who don't ask as useless questions, try pdf viewing. That is by far the greatest thing that I consider it to have.

This looks just awful. Even if everything didn't run like crap with only a few ecceptions the resizing makes this unbearable.

Considering the fact that this is just a beta and the DSTwo has more power than the iSMM, I hold a lot more optimism towards this project.

So I come here, and the last two pages are Linux-bashing and typical /g/ stuff.

What I want to know, is where the source code is? Specifically for the Linux kernel in zImage_DS2.
Typically, when you release a newly-compiled GNU-encumbered kernel legally, you need to host the source code.
Or at least, link to the original source, and provide all the patches you've committed.

I'd love to have the source myself, being a Linux dev, since I can contribute and test/debug on my hardware.

after reading some compat wiki junk, i tried out Abes Odyssey on the PS1 emu, and it runs surprisingly well (so far) =D
Also, i wanted to say that even at this stage, the Heretic (yesssss, finally heretic on my DS with no slot-2) and Duke3d (regular DS port is quite buggy) are buttery smooth as far as game-play.

I've been running the same version of Linux as the iSMM and have tried SCUMMVM and UAE4ALL and I've found that there is a huge problem with mouse emulation in that you cannot move the mouse pointer smoothly if at all.
On the plus side for those who've always wanted it Full Throttle does seem to run slightly faster than on the iSMM.

VatoLoco: THese games that you are testing, do they come with this distro?

Also are they all configured to be played with the DS's controls are are we expected to use a virtual keyboard?

How might one transform those nice little scribbles into engish?
i just guessed my way around till i got the hang of navigating=P
havent tried it, so not sure it'd work, but there is an english ismart z4 (without the various emu Bios and stuff) at Filetrip.

Ive been scrolling the Dingoo Wiki sections for Dingux games and emulators.
and no, you dont need the vitual keyboard, but some stuff definitely is not optimized for DS controls. Games like Shadow Warrior need to be remapped to play. but some games buttons are OK, like hHeretic, Duke3D, Gianas Return, and Zelda-RotH.
also theres not enough buttons on the DS to play very far into Oddworld (theres no L2 button thats needed to tip-toe).

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
