you probably aint gonna get anything by bruteforcing. Look here: http://xorloser.com/?p=93 - shows how long it could take to bruteforce a key of the type DSi uses (i think DSi uses this type, or similar anyway).

And what do you mean "I wonder how we will access the NAND"? Do you mean you wonder how a way will be found to install fakesigned content e.g. a HBC style channel?

as for the homebrew channel i think people are getting way ahead of themselves we have not even figured out how to hack the sd slot yet let alone make a channel (aka block on dsi) so lets stick to the basics first.

I think it would be cool if the DSi got hacked through the DSi flash carts. It would be cool if you could install the HBC channel through the flash carts. That way you could use the HBC installing program for somebody else and install the HBC channel on so many DSi's with just one flash carts. Then I could become popular hacking so many DSi's because I'm the only with a flashcart in my group of friends. Forget I said that last part...

Do you think the dsi ll might open a windows because of its size or a system flaw?

P.S. Haven't you notice how nintendo messes with hackers. They dont want to make there systems on absolute lockdown like microsoft did with the xbox 360. if they wanted to stop HBC production they would block it forever in a wii system update firmware or hardware (same thing as dsi). Also they would make any production of flashcarts or HBC channels illegal. the dsi ll is practicly the same as the dsi except worse, the only thing better is that it has a bigger screen and having two stylus's one bigger one average size (at least if you call that better). I dont know if im right about the dsi ll thing but i think nintendo is just messing with hackers and just like to watch us scramble (pretty cool though:creep:). Anyways my point is nintendo is more on our side then you think. (you never know we might be able to make somewhat of a gaming system looking more towards open source).

Uhhh, that's pretty off the ball there champ. Whenever Nintendo adds in anti hacking measures, those measures are probably the best things they can add. They don't want to add better shit so they don't end up screwing people over (by people I mean people who have no intentions of modding their system). If anything it's the hackers that have the upper hand. Nintendo having to watch a shit load of piracy on the DSi and Wii isn't exactly them watching us scramble.

Any way you look at it piracy is bad for Nintendo (except for the small amount of people who buy the systems just for piracy), they won't keep it on their systems intentionally so they can have a good laugh.

Also this thread will likely get no where, the smartest thing said on this thread came out from SifJar and that's because he's not one of the people who think hex editing will lead to a major hacking breakthrough. This thread will likely just lead to being closed like the DSi homebrew channel topic.

Oh and I'm pretty sure loopy doesn't have the common key, you can pretty much tell by common sense. If TT had the common key they wouldn't be saying "We barely have any good progress to show on the DSi". They'd either come right out and say they're getting shit done with it or they'd tease with some statement like "I know we all, as human beings, have something in common but it seems hacking brings us even closer". You can also pretty much tell by frequenting on their dev channel on efnet. Seriously you can just ask "Does loopy have the common key" and you'd probably either get the answer of "Probably not" or "no".

Good day to your sirs.

yea that is true they probaly arent messing with us. i just want an explanation why they arent locking down there systems like xbox 360 did. (not that i want it to. in fact i hope they never do.)

they try, but lets face it, they are the only company which makes a profit on hardware. sony and microsoft sell the actual consoles at a loss. Nintendo make a profit on each console. they dont have as much incentive. Sony and Microsoft NEED the games sales, otherwise they're making a loss. Ninty don't need the game sales as much. And their consoles are the most popular, so they're raking in the money anyway.

I wonder how where going to make the homebrew channel. I have a feeling team twiizers may be close to getting the common key.
