If a .sav doesn't exist, then DSiMenu++ will create a new one.
If that keeps happening somehow, make sure your SD card isn't locked, if your console isn't a N3DS/N2DS.

Async prefetch might be breaking them. Try turning it off for those games.

Okay I added my own saves and my card isn’t locked but every time it loads a new one. Do I have to change the name?

where do .sav files even go?

Simple. Just launch homebrew.
Before I updated PortalDS and DSCraft both worked if I launched with "Y", but gave a white screen when launching normally. Now the "Y" option disappeared and both continue giving white screens when launching with "A" Is the latest bootstrap incompatible with these homebrew?

There's a bug related to loading per-game settings that causes a crash, which is why games aren't running for some users.

I think I just corrupted my SD Card. DSiMenu++ is softlocking my DSi after the logo splash (5 minutes ago it was working fine)

That's probably why "settings.ini" was being deleted.
I'm gonna format it and try again to see if it's going to be deleted again. What alocation size should I use again?

Could it have to do with the fact I was using the bootcode.dsi from 6.0.0 (I really want to run Homebrew directly without having to do Flipnotehax)

I can boot to DSmenu++ without a hitch (N3DS with Luma newest version, using sudokhx to crack it and added godmode9 11.8 firmware), my TWL will not work any longer, just crashes. My Question is how do you get/enable AR codes via DSMenu++, I have a cheat.xml in root _NDS folder, and when i boot i get a white screen with full cheats.xml, when i use a per game cheat.xml (just one game) the game loads but I get no menu or prompt and 'joker' codes do not work? sorry I used to do hax back in the NDS days. new to this bloatware exploit for cfw. Ive been bASH h4xing for the last couple of years Ive been outa the game for 8 years with ndsHx.

btw trying to use cfw and no gamecrts (no r4,ace,supercrd, etc)

Even after formatting my SD Card, I can't run them directly. Only by using hbmenu... You said something about a DSi header, is there a way to add it to these old homebrews?

Hi, longtime lurker here. Thanks for all your guides and resources.

Now, usually I would just browse the forums looking for answers but this time I just can't seem to find what I need to do to correct the (minor) issues I'm having with DSimenu++

As stated, these are minor and everything else works just right (game covers show up, runs nds, nes and gb/gbc games) but still I just can't get out of my head that maybe I did something wrong.

I'm running on a DSi XL with HiyaCFW on a 2GB card (also tested on a 32GB card). I used the guide at cfw.guide as recommended on "A noob's guide to DSi hacking end-to-end"

EDIT: HiyaCFW works fine. Booting up while pressing Select takes me to the CFW options (splash screen, autoboot, etc).

Followed these instructions as well:
Instructions (No flashcard, DSi users with HiyaCFW)
In the 7z file, extract the "_nds" folder, and the "boot.nds" file, to the SD Card root.
Extract what's in "CFW - SDNAND root" to the root of your SD card.
Put .gb/.gbc/.nes/.nds ROMs anywhere on your SD card.
Launch DSiMenu++!

These are my symtoms:

- I've seen several Youtube videos where running DSimenu++ boots straigh into the roms menu. Mine boots to the root of the SD card.

- L/R don't switch pages. I get an error buzz instead.

- Up/down doesn't switch between roms and dsiware. I get no feedback from the console (no sound, no graphical glitch, etc)

- Pressing Y does nothing

- Pressing X prompts me to delete the selected item (folder, game, etc), unless I'm at the Start menu (where Settings, Launch slot-1 card and GBArunner show up); pressing X at that screen takes me back to stock DSi menu.

- Running "Settings" at the Start menu reboots DSimenu++

As stated, everything else works fine, I can run DSiware and roms, even AP patched (at least the few I've tried) and the game covers show up at the top screen. What really irks me is the inability to enter the Settings screen.

Anyone has any idea what I'm missing? The closest thing I've seen reported is someone on reddit saying that launching Settings frezzes his 3DS console. The advice he got was to delete a settings.ini file (which I don't have and I couldn't find any on the 7z file from github).

Sorry to bother, but I'm unable to boot into any games on a relatively virgin O3DS with a fresh installation. I have it set up on my other O3DS and it runs fine, so I'm not entirely sure what could be the issue. Can load into ++, select the game and boot it, but it just gives a white screen. Same ROM is confirmed working on the other console. Any ideas? I doublechecked folders and settings across both devices. Luma patching enabled etc.

What roms have you tried?
