It has been a long time since I updated DS App Studio, but here is the new update, going to be available tomorrow. Here are the features I added to the program and the bugs I fixed so far:
- Seperated functions say to say and text(text can be positioned, not say)
- Compilation bug fixed, where the resources sometimes would be re-added and cause errors
- The global variables are saved as a text file so you don't have to reenter them.
- The icons for the templates changed(more for style fix)
- Instead of importing templates everytime, the templates dialog loads them itself(You have to import them at first, but later you can just select the project template)
- New functions were added for objects:
Code:ÂÂ setobjectx ÂÂ setobjecty ÂÂ setobjectxy - You can update the devkitPro by just the click of a button
- You can check the syntax through clicking 'Check Syntax'
- The quality of backgrounds is not as limited as before(before there was a 256 bitmap limit)
- You have a choice of building the build status into a text file or not(more of a save space function)
- Animated sprites will be available
- Tutorials will be included(and examples)
- Sprites will be displayed in the Workspace tree
- 3D maybe available in some ways(such as drawing different shapes
- I will be adding static and dynamic variables soon(static meaning that they are fixed variables, and dynamic variables will be global)
- I will fix some of the functions so that they will accept more values
- There will be already made plug-ins(DSAL plug-ins and DS App Studio plugins for more available graphics and other logical plug-ins, such as physics and AI for game creation)
- There will be updates for just added plug-ins that you can install into DSAL
