Is it sad to actually want to check this game out? I don't care about Ben Stiller one way or the other, but maybe it will be a decent platformer?

I think you and I think along similar lines, man. I was kinda waiting for it myself. Were it not an in-between time for bigger, better games, I probably wouldn't care, but I've read some decent things about the DS version.

Having played this for a bit, it's pretty decent. It plays a LOT like old school Prince of Persia, so if you didn't like the all stylus control of the last PoP game, you might enjoy this game.

Too bad we can't get a Virtual Boy port for a proper 3D experience to go along with the 3D movie.

I haven't seen the screencaps yet but I'm sure my kids will dig this since they haven't yet properly been burned by a lifetime of crappy-to-mediocre tv/movie licensed games.

My verdict so far: surprisingly good. I'm only on the second world (or collection of levels, whatever), but there's some good platforming adventure here. The flying mechanic is pretty cool, and it's done well. I think most folks won't be able to over the mental hurdle that this is a movie-based game, but it's good, regardless.
