Will it be possible to extract these legit CIAs from the upcoming special consoles, given they'll probably be over 9.2? Can they be system-transferred to an emuNAND on another console and extracted there, for example?

Yeah, performing a system transfer to an emuNAND or exploitable sysNAND would be the way to go.

While I would say I don't see why not, there's the issue of the AP measure for HHD. It'll be interesting, but I doubt it'll be too long before someone figures out how to so you can extract yours from the new console you buy so you can use it on all your emuNANDs.

That AP doesn't apply to the CIA AFAIK.

i wouldn't be surprised if nintendo has changed how they deal with legit titles, and im not sure system transfers transfer the ticket as legit, but probably instead produces a new ticket that is signed to the new console

If I'm not remembering it wrong, the target console redownloads the tickets from eShop, and the ticket it gets is per-console signed. So you would actually lose the pre-installed "universal" ticket by doing that.

yeah im pretty sure thats the case, so assuming nintendo is still using the "universal signature" for pre-installed games the only way to retrieve them would probably be a new 9.4+ arm9 exploit to decrypt the nand

.....unless ofc they ship on 9.2 or lower .....but yeah, i very much doubt it XD

It's probable, I guess it simplifies mass-installation of games. No wonder that, apart from these two EU releases, they're starting to rely on eShop codes more (it solves the "legit CIA" issue and it's probably very easy for them to generate those download codes).
The consoles being 9.2 or lower is impossible of course

yeah, but they also dont like codes as then people have a choice if they want to sell the code.....and heaven forbid people having the choice to resell their game :O....but yeah universal CIA's are probably much much easier to deal with for making pre-installed games, and lets face it for people to be able to install them they have to have a hacked 3DS anyway so the damage is only from people installing them and reselling the console with "13 games preinstalled"....but those same people could just offer the console with 100 games if they explain how CFW works to the buyer, so i doubt there is even much damage there

plus i guess adding codes means additional costs, not just the slip, but with server costs to have everyone download the game, and saves complaints from people who have data caps or limited internet speeds
