There is an app called something like Wiitch (sorry if the names wrong). You can get this from the HomeBrew Browser.

Once you get it you can edit the config of the app and add a URL of your own and download anything to the sd card, it arrives in a folder called Downloads on the root of your SD card, you can then use WiiExplorer to move it etc. Or if Wiitchs source is available you could edit the folder the download goes to.

btw, is wiitch open source..anyone...?

*EDIT*
beat to the ftpii ...

If your Wii takes like 3 minutes to download an update of a homebrew. How long time will get to download a film?

I think transfering the movie to USB or SD and plugging that into the Wii will be significantly faster than downloading it directly to the Wii. Even if your Wii is on the other side of town.
Like they say: never underestimate the bandwith of a truck full of hard disks.
