details would help....are you using a usb loader to use the cheats with ocarina? or you using the old ocarina program to launch from a dvd? when you say you are downloading the codes are you downloading them through a usb loader or on your pc?

Well, yes. Softmodding is incredibly simple and has tons of benefits. It gives you the ability to play backup games, homebrew apps, etc. Softmodding just for cheats would be silly though. The only cheat code engine I know of is Ocarina, but it obviously requires the use of homebrew apps.

There are plenty of tuts out there on softmodding and using homebrew apps so you shouldn't have any problems.

in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select

  • NinStar @ NinStar:

  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
