Stop stealing frames from Nintendo. You knew how many FPS you were getting when you PAID for the game. Don't be a hoodlum.

Mod for DOOM (2016) that increases framerate from 30 FPS to 60 FPS. It is hitting that target framerate most of the time when using the below overclock but it might drop to the 50s in GPU and Memory heavy areas. Will work in both handheld and docked mode but bear in mind that to accomplish this a lot of sacrifices were made to the graphics settings f.e SSDO and Antialiasing were disabled. The game has some weird behaviour regarding its performance and resolution when it is set to run at 60FPS f.e sometimes a higher GPU OC might give you a higher resolution but also results in worse performance than a lower GPU OC so its better to experiment with GPU clocks until you get the best balance between resolution and framerate. Overall nothing was wrong or off during testing.

Code:
handheld_charging_cpu=1785
handheld_charging_official_gpu=768
handheld_charging_mem=1600

To install it simply copy the atmosphere folder to the sd card's root.

It will only work with version 1.2.
Enjoy.

Note: For people that want to get an FPS Counter for this game, add "com_showfps 1" to default_sp.cfg (located in atmosphere\contents\0100416004C00000\romfs\base) at line 48.
Also for people using atmosphere 0.9.X or lower make sure to rename the contents folder to titles.
I unpack Wolfenstein 2:The New Colossus,get default_sp.cfg.I try close Antialiasing.it is work.and fixed resolution.I am not sure whether it will take effect。but .fps show is not work.

Yeah I said that some cvars were stripped.
Try copying this and see if it works com_showConsumerPerfMetrics 5

Thanks for the hard work on these mods guys. Breathing new life into these games.

I just installed the 60FPS updated version and noticed that game speed was reducing with framerate. Is this expected? Not something I noticed with the first version but I was playing on a less demanding level. The 2nd to last level is the most demanding level I've found by far.

I was also wondering if you know of a way to disable SSAO. At these lower resolutions it just turns into a flickery, dithered mess and I think it'd look much better disabled. Thanks!

The game doesnt use SSAO it uses SSDO instead which is already disabled. If you want a higher res change rs_dropmilliseconds to 16 and rs_raisemilliseconds to 15.3 and if you want the game speed to adjust with framerate change com_minadaptivetickHz to 30.

"resloution docked=1"means 1920*1080 in idtech engine games?or.other?

No.f.e."rs_minimumResolutionScaleX_docked 1" means dockmode resloution="1920*1080*1"and "rs_minimumResolutionScaleX_handled 1" means handled mode resloution=1280*720*1?
No r_mode determines resolution, 0 is for 720p and 1 is for 1080p. After that you multiply the resolution with the one you choosed for dynamic res f.e. rs_minimumResolutionScaleX_handled 0.5 with r_mode set to 1 means that the lowest resolution handheld mode can reach is 1080p×0.5 so 540p.

Hey guys - any success on 60fps conversion for Wolfenstein Youngblood ?
I tried it myself to insert the variables of the doom patch to an unpacked .cfg file.
I "succeeded" kind of .... The AA is disabled but the gamespeed is cut in half but it's trying to reach 60fps ...

The dynamic resolution dropping seems disabled

Any ideas for me ?

in doom 60fps.our friends reduced minres value and close aa to reach 60fps and change some frame codeline.so what are you do?and need oc to get it.in youngblood,I just try disable dynamic resolution

I just copied the minres values and all other values which disables AA as example.
I OCed to max and I reach 40fps... maybe I lower the minres values ?

But I think the dynamic resolution ist completely disabled with the values from Doom 60FPS.. Have they changed in this iteration of the engine ?

You forgot that this mod is using exefs_patches to unlock 60 FPS first, then configs to tweaks animation speed and graphics. Youngblood is probably the same and you can't see more than 30 FPS.

If you send me the exefs in PM I could make the 60fps patch for it.

using exefs_patches to unlock 60 FPS first,

You're right - I'm not using a exefs_patch - but still..It's running on 60fps when I look to the sky or a simple wall.
But the dynamic resolution scaling seems broken. It's on a permanent fixed resolution.

When the exefs_patch is the fix for this - How do I make one ? :-D

    If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

    I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

    Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
    and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

    There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

    That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
