That's the question... Does Homebrew allow you to play Wii, Gamecube, SNES and NES games on the gamepad with the TV off? Is there a way to do that?

You may easily play SNES and NES games using Virtual Console games. And for those which aren't in the eShop, you could look for injected ones.

For Wii games, yes, also you could simply download the backups and install them with WUP installer. Not every game allows Gamepad as controller, though.

For GameCube games, there's a Nintendon't "Forwarder" (an app that can be installed to Wii U home menu), that basically loads a modified Nintendon't DOL file which allows the GamePad as controller. This would be the hardest one to do, but it's in practice pretty easy.

Thanks both of you. For clarity when you say "Game pad controller" and the when the wiki says "Game pad input" does that mean you can view the game on the gamepad and play it using the gamepad without the TV on? Or does it mean the gamepad is a black screen and you are using it as a controller and viewing it on the TV?

All Wii games can be viewed on both Wii U pad and TV, but you have to use the wiimote for most the others you can play using gamepad. There's no black screen involved unless you choose TV only on wiimote games.

Thanks, what about SNES, NES, Gamecube, can those be played on the gamepad using the gamepad screen and not the TV?
