I think they will make new ds games for a year or 2 and slowly shift to 3ds games.
But I think it will take a while before 3ds really lifts off.
Here in Belgium they don't sell that good YET.
There is a commercial for the 3ds on tv but on only one channel so I think there are a lot of people who just don't know about the 3ds yet.
I could buy mine right away at the store so...

But once the leader game producers see the sales are good in every country they will stop making ds games and make 3ds ones.

And to those who say 3ds is just another upgrade from the ds: there are way to many changes to call this just an upgrade.

Better resolution, 3d, slidepad , 3 fairly good cameras and on the inside it changed A LOT. That thing has more power than a PSP now you know!!!

Sorry, I lost control there for a moment, but it just REALLY pissed me off.

You guys don't get what the 3DS is -.-' Its just another mod of the DS like the DSi. DS games won't die, trust me. Not every ds gamer company is gonna make 3ds games, they're gonna continue making normal ds games. When the DSi came out, there were barely any exclusive games for it compared to the normal ds games.

You guys seriously need to learn to learn. There is no way the 3DS is just an upgraded DS. IT'S A WHOLE NEW GENERATION!!!
Nintendo may make a few games for the old DS as well as the 3DS in the future, just like they still make a few PS2 games, but more often than not theywill only release for 3DS.
For example, TLoZ:OoT is only coming out on 3DS, thus proof that they are abandoning the older models as that is one of their biggest releases.

To your '3DS is just a DS with better graphics' statement:
Every new generation of a console has better graphics!!!! Whereas, newer versions i.e the DSi, do NOT.

I agree with that. May be that DS haven't got any BIG release but like Takanato said not all companies have the hability and/or money to make 3DS games. Remember that if anyone want to program (and gain money, of course) for 3DS they have to pay for official SDK.

If you really read my post I comment ONLY about the future release games and in ANY CASE I will be include in the stupid question about 3DS mod/not mod of DS.
I don't comment any about that specifically

Development costs for the 3DS are probably a bit higher than on a DS. So your shovelware devs will probably stick to the lower cost DS for now, while your AAA titles will migrate more to the 3DS platform...

From what I have read, the 3DS dev kit is a lot cheaper than Nintendos previous dev kits. I expect more shovelware.

First I've heard of this but interesting none the less. I guess it depends on how much the dev kit enables the 3D effects. If it requires a lot of 'fiddling' to get a 3D effect going, then your total dev costs might still be higher. It'll depend on how much the decreased dev kit costs, offsets any increase in total dev time costs. Though you do have a point in that we might just see a lot more shovelware junk that uses 3D in only very minor ways just so they can claim it's THREE-DEEEEEEEE!

P.S. There are various ways to mod hardware.
So based on what you've been saying, a "mod" is removal of all components, replacing them with more powerful components, while replacing the screen with a better screen, adding new controls, new features, and using exclusive software that won't work on previous generations.

By that logic, an iMac with a 27" LED display (at 1920x1080) running OSX Snow Leopard with an i7 CPU, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, ATI Radeon HD 5-series graphics and a Magic Mouse is just a mod of an Apple II with a monochrome 9" CRT display (at 140x192) running Apple DOS with an 8-bit 1 MHz CPU, 64KB of RAM, no dedicated graphics and no mouse whatsoever. (sorry about the Mac analogy. I'm not an Apple fanboy, and probably never will be. I just thought it would be simpler to compare products of the same brand)

The 3DS doesn't use the same hardware as the DS. It has a more powerful CPU, a much more powerful GPU, higher resolution stereoscopic screen, an analog stick, motion sensors, and has its own games. It is in no way a simple "mod" of a DS, and it is not part of what is known as the "DS lineup".
Get your facts straight.

It doesn't really bother me because I have about 150 roms to get through and it will take me a long time to play all of the games so I am very happy.

3DS is not 'DS with higher specs' says Miyamoto - DCEmu: "It's much more than that"

Thats a lie lolololol just a way to hype it up some more so they can get more money.
If you think that the 3DS is just another DSi/XL..... Just no.
Think about it, for the DSi they have made DSi enhanced games, meaning they still work on the DS, but have extra features on the DSi. Yet, I don't see any 3DS enhanced games.
