DIY CSM TOOL Beta (UPDATED)

SUPPORTS NTSC AND PAL

Ok this is an alpha meaning more features will be added

its like healthii and wadder in the way it runs automated

to install this you need to have the softmii tweak installer and preloader installed (so in event of brick your ass is covered)

this is a very early stage alpha so you use at your own risk i have tested many times on my pal wii
now in beta loads of bug fixes now done

basicly it changes the "back to the wii menu" to anything you so desire

run the installer then make sure there is no spaces in the title of your system menu wad as this wont let you extract from the wad

type the custom text you want to replace in the system menu then browse to your systemmenu wad

select pal or ntsc

hit go then sit back dont touch nothing untill you get the "diy csm completed" message

copy 00000045.APP or the 00000042.APP to sd card and install with softmii tweak installer

full vb6 source included

here is a video of it in action

I think this is pretty good. You know what would be really awesome though, a combined 'System Menu Editor'. Using Healthii, Pressii, and this into one tool.

Call me lazy, but I just think it would be convenient. Hell, if there was command line options for these programs, Id write a GUI for unifying all these

Lol, funny.

Homebrew is growing at an exponential rate. We went from twilight hack, to homebrew channel, to crappy backup loading, to gamma, to cioscorp, to softmii, to csm. I guess the ultimate goal is BootMii(complete control of Wii, not in piracy sense).

Hmm looks like i need to come up with another name for my CSM automation tool. Nah, better yet ill just leave the tools to others, by the time i finished with mine to edit everything there will already be a tool to do each part one at a time. Actually this is cool. One less thing for me to worry about doing

FYI for anyone hand editing the system menu that missed my last post on this (or jack post on it for that matter) this is just editing a csv file.

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select

  • NinStar @ NinStar:

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
