Nintendo NX

So, there are rumors and including new proof that Nintendo is rolling out a new console in a few
years to come. Now it's only in the Prototype stages at the moment, but we have a good idea what it will be like.

Of course, overall the Graphics will be even better than the Wii U.
Most likely Nintendo is going the "Graphical" route like Sony & Microsoft;
but they've been on the "Good, Family, and Decent Quality" route ever since the NES and SNES,
but now they're bringing out the Big Guns, supposedly.

So are they going to Discontinue the Wii U after it's release?
The answer is, well we don't really know.
The Wii Was discontinued last year, about 2 years after the release of the Wii U
Most likely the Wii U will have it's last year or two of life after the NX's release.

So this Discussion is meant to talk about the NX in general, debate what it will be like, and anything related to the topic at hand.

Since it's only a Prototype, i don't have any specs....just a concept:

So will you be upgrading to the NX, or replace your Wii U?
Or just ditch Nintendo entirely?
Personally; I'll be sticking to the Wii U for now, but im not planning
on replacing my system, but time will tell.

If the NX takes a few years (say 2) Nintendo will have made yet another mistake.
Wii U development has all but stopped from anyone other than Nintendo ... so I dont think it will take a few years for the NX.

How did you determine this? This sounds like nothing more than a speculative guess, as Nintendo's history does nothing to back this up and Nintendo won't talk about the specifics on the NX until 2016. They haven't even indicated a general "direction" in which they are heading.

One of the few things that official Nintendo reps HAVE said about the NX is that it is not intended as a direct replacement of the Wii U. As you said, this means the Wii U will have at least a few years, but possibly even longer depending on a variety of factors. We don't have enough information to make any educated guesses on this, really.

In regards to that picture... That is obviously a user-made concept photo. There is no credibility to it; it's just something some guy came up with that has no affiliation to Nintendo. If you think about it, it doesn't even make sense... Why on earth would a d-pad be on the console itself, when there is clearly no screen built-in? It's too large and awkward of a brick for someone to place it on their lap. It's also completely lacking the imagination the is characteristic of Nintendo.
