Hi guys!

I'm trying to move my HBL channel from my USB drive to my SD card, since most of my apps are on the latter and I often forget to turn the HDD on before booting, getting comfortable in my chair and then realising that I have to get up again to turn on the HDD.

Side note: at this point I get an annoying prompt about the Wii U needing to be off before connecting a HDD, and the system menu reloads itself. Not a big deal, but just wondering whether doing this a lot could corrupt the drive, or for what other reason Nintendo seems so hell bent on forcing you to do things their way.

Honestly, I haven't the faintest idea why I ever put such a crucial thing on the HDD to begin with. Nevertheless, it's there and I'd like to rectify this. Which brings me to the point of this post (sorry it took so long lol).

The only way that I can think of to do this is using FTPiiU_Everywhere and an FTP client on my PC, which I have tried, but man...the directory structure is so complex and nothing seems to be named in easily-identifiable ways, rather title IDs or other seemingly-random numbers.

Also the most-likely candidate for the root of the USB drive seems to me to be the "usb" folder, but I get a 550 error on attempting to open that. Is that normal?

Can anyone provide any tips on where to look for HBL? Better yet, basic guidelines re: where certain types of apps and games are generally located? MTIA :-)

I don't know how you have yours setup. are you talking about a forwarder? you can't simply transfer it due to indexing. it could corrupt data probably if you just turn the hdd on or off while the system is running. if you're getting a 550 error, you probably have the wrong version of ftpii u everywhere. there's a mocha version and a haxchi version, neither can be used with the other.

Umm...I don't think so but am really not sure. I installed HBL years ago and can't remember how, but it was probably using the web exploit to install the actual RPX (or ELF, you tell me) then installing the channel with WUP Installer GX2...or something like that lol. Like I said this was years ago and I have trouble remembering yesterday let alone that far back lol :P

Fair enough. I was actually thinking about this some more after posting and realised just before you did that it would probably be easier to uninstall my entire homebrew setup and reinstall it than try to move things around this way...especially since I have no idea what I'm doing lol. And now you've confirmed that. Thanks! :)

Yeah makes sense. OK I'll try to remember to turn it on before booting from now on.

Sorry I probably should have mentioned in the OP that I have CBHC and that I couldn't get FTPiiU_Everywhere to load at all until I downloaded FIX94's updated version for CBHC 1.2+. So I'm pretty sure I have the right version; just can't access that particular folder. I can access storage_usb though, and searching that directory for "launcher" brings up "homebrew_launcher.rpx" in "/storage_usb/usr/title/00050000/13374842/code". So I believe I've found the right folder that I would want to move if that were possible, but we've already established that it isn't :(

Thanks again for replying. Have a good one mate! :)

just move it in system settings. it won't hurt cbhc. I've done many things while on cbhc, and I've never had a problem. you'll only have a problem really if you start messing with that ds titles files.

LOL OK I'm confused...you said it wasn't a good idea to just go moving stuff around due to indexing, and I agree since I'm not entirely sure of what I'm talking about doing here. Plus there's no way that I can see to move it to the SD through system settings...I can move it to NAND, but the SD doesn't show up in the data management settings. Is that not normal?

I'm referring to system settings. if you found it on usb, you probably have a forwarder installed.
Umm...sorry for being such a n00b but...what?! I know you said system settings, and so I explained how (to my knowledge) you can't access the SD card through that. Please explain in more than a few words how I would move the RPX to SD. Thanks again :)

I think we are seriously misunderstanding each other, so rather than risk offending you, I'm just going to say "OK thanks".

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in

    it's dumb

    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
