Since I have stopped watching TV, I get all my movies from DVDs or the internet these days. There is the obvious possibility to pirate movies but lately there have been some really promising productions directly targeted at the internet.
I started with Star Trek fan films such as http://hiddenfrontier.com/ , http://newvoyages.com/ , http://www.starshipintrepid.net/ , http://www.starshipexeter.com/ , http://www.starshipfarragut.com/ etc. and they are really great. However, most people here probably aren't into Star Trek that much... (If you are, you HAVE to check out those movies!)
So here are some of the other interesting things I have found:

Sanctuary For All
http://www.sanctuaryforall.com/
The first mini series consists of four episodes, three of which have already been released. They have professional actors and it's looking really amazing. Most stuff is filmed in front of a green screen but that doesn't prevent them from doing some amazing complex shots which sometimes look cheesy but work most of the time. You can watch the episodes in low resolution for free at http://sanctuaryfans.com/ or buy them at higher resolutions and tolerable prices via Paypal. I think this is worth spending some bucks on.

Snowgum Films

Daniel Knight has been the first to get an official permission to make a live action Discworld movie but finishing Trollbridge is taking him quite some time. In the meantime he has released some very funny shorts well worth watching, one of them being Run Rincewind Run, a Discworld movie that features an appearance by Terry Pratchett himself.

The Morning After and Undead Ted are worth watching, too.

Venus Rises
http://venusrises.com/
This is an original Sci Fi series and seems to be done by a bunch of hobbyists. It's still in production with the first episode probably coming soon. It looks very promising.

Blueseraph Productions

Not really targeted at the internet but they have made some very interesting gay themed movies, great for fighting your homophobia! Drag Queen Heist is really funny.

Anyone know any others? I'm always looking for more!

Are the Trekie ones worth watching for someone like me who loves the original series, doesn't mind Enterprise but finds the rest to be incredibly boring?

New Voyages continues the original series and Starship Exeter is set in the same era and is an almost perfect recreation of the original. Starship Farragut is quite good, too. You might find Intrepid ok even though it's set in the modern era but Hidden Frontier is probably not your piece of cake.

Awesome. I have (free) music and games sorted from the internet, now video seems to be coming.

Also even though you appear to have been around a bit I had not seen you so welcome back OrR. *hums hotel california*

Re: more shows. I occasionally see such things when floating around the internet but tend not to pay them much heed. There were a couple from Scandinavia though if I recall so I will what is going to happen.
