Hi People,

As I should note, don't change the names from Japanese names to American names. Leave them as it was before. I'm not going to change "names, terms or any related things that we worked on them before"

I used mostly "japanese digimon names", and "Digitama" and Evolution. If you want to make it localized to american, I will be giving you all files and you should complete translations and localization.

Now I think that putting the story MESPAK in a public site was a big mistake.

Well it was offered to us by sasqua and literally the only oppersition we had to localising the names was now, Rastsan seemed ok with it too. You should have intervined earlier. I would have accepted.
And if thats an executive decision then fine, I can accept jap digi names, and not to sound like TSM1 but I'd like to express my disappointment with the decision to partly translate the game.

He's intervening now. It's really up to them how they want to translate it and even if you cry about it, others will still enjoy the translation. If the team doesn't want localized names, then they don't want localized names. It's better than the game not being translated at all. Not having localized crap isn't the end of the world. You can be disappointed all you want, in the end, it's up to the team. I personally think they'll do a great job without the localized names and I hope the editing process goes smoothly.

Good luck, yugix and the team.

I know he's intervening now and I'm cool with that, I was just a little confused as other members of the team accepted the idea of name localisation, but one person against is enough for me because as you said, its much better than no game.
And please Phoenix, im not a kid. Theres no crying going on here so dont treat me as one, thank you.

Never called you a child. Waterworks don't stop once you reach adulthood.

I think asking the head of the team would have prevented a lot of this from going on, but since it all happened already, it can't be helped now. They've given their input. No need to go on and on about it.

And the last thing they need is two people bickering in a thread.

So again, good luck yugix and team.

I accept your logic.
To be honest I assumed rastsan was the leader because he was the most active on the thread.
Yh good luck

I am only active as there isn't much to do when you get stuck in doctor's appointments and other weird medical crap....
no was not trying to be a lead and or head for this just looking for advice and or a translation of stuff relating to the images for this project.

(did I really give the feeling I was in charge... sigh ... sorry)
But I was trying to make thing clear, rather ineffectively it seems though....

Well I feel like an idiot now for using all the localized names... but in my defense it was confusing as to who was the leader and whether or not names WERE being localized. :P
How about releasing 2 patches - localized and non-localized?

i would think that this would take a lot more time then needed. they will make a decision and the rest of us will most likely just be happy to finaly play the game well understanding the story line

Sorry people,

It was my bad since I was away for a period of time. I think if you want it as localized, we have to localize it.
But the thing is that I have mostly no time to do it. So, if there is anyone willing to do it. I will gladly give him/them the files needed and offsets to do it.

And Rastsan,
You were doing a great time as reviving this forum since most of us was out ..

For Black-Ice and Mirby,
If anyone of you want to do it, Please tell me by pm and I will tell you what you need.

I always think Yugix have the last word in this because he allready translate most of the names of items and digimons. Talking seriously I only need the items names to play, and I would love to have the story line to understand what is going on, the rest of the game don´t represent a priority :) .
Btw I prefer the original names, but I didn't say a thing because I did not want to troll the thread.

Well unless I'm mistaken, there are a lot of Digimon names that are the same between JP and NA, so it shouldn't be that hard. And if you can't figure out that Tailmon is Gatomon by appearance, then you may need to get your eyes checked. Also, using the localized term of "digivolution" might be confusing unless we even changed the name of the game to Lost Digivolution.

With all that, I can see why it would be okay to keep the original names and terms. Also as I pointed out earlier, the fact that there's DigiEggs and Digitamamon... it's another thing that can be made consistent, I suppose.

But yeah, I think we'd need a consensus before determining whether to localize, keep the names the same, or even release two patches! Anyone able to add a poll to this topic? :P

naw i think digievolution and lost evolution work fine together
for the first few months after i heard of this translation project i thought they used digievolution in japan too

I think only the guy who started the topic can add a poll...

it would be great if the patch was made fully localized (I love the term digivolution, and digivolve (I even use it in pokemon XD )), but so long as the text is in english, players can adjust to digimon names and there's always wikis online if they really can't figure them out... (plus, with JP names, it would be SlashAngemon, and not GuardiAngemon :) )

damn i hat how ppl are screwing with the story translation
i just check but some fucktard screwed with lines 4809 and 4810
i fixed them though
they should be accurate now
google translate phonetics + my knowledge of speaking japanese ftw
but in all seriousness the actually translations google gives sucks

Hahahaa indeed. But then, I know Japanese people who have trouble translating some things. It's a tricky language XD

perhaps they simply had a bad translation? or was it a big screw-up?

I wouldn't mind the release of two patches, with one unadalterated. That does seem like a lot of work for the programmers, though, especially if the localized patch is going to change the names of items, attacks, and locations as well as Digimon and terminology.

@ foolish gamer; yes it is actually. that is why I download copies every now and then to my pc and to update specifically to my google docs page. Where the docs are locked and the only one with access is me. That way in case some idiot vandalizes everything someone will have a copy (even if it may not be the most current I still check in every now and then). As that has happened to other projects, where they literally had to start over from the beginning. Its cruel and I don't see how it is fun but it has happened.
So any project that I am involved in that has something on google docs - that will let me - has at least one backup in some form with me.

@[member='TMS1'] If someone wants to go through the graphics after that is up to them.
But text wise there really isn't going to be much trouble involved in two patches. Its just using the tool from Normatt and entering the stuff from google docs into the pak files. It takes time. oh, re-doing certain graphics also.
