It seems it’s possible with Mario 64 DS…

And there is a widescreen cheat for the N64 game.

Is it possible to do this for Diddy Kong Racing DS?

This game would obviously be better with analog based controls like the original game.

Lots of things are "possible". You probably want to know if it's easy. And it probably isn't.

By all accounts DKR DS is a deeply flawed game. I expect it hasn't gotten much attention because there are just too many things that need fixing.

Yeah I've tried the widescreen patch for Diddy Kong Racing and it works fine.
