So I was doing the dsiware transfer and was ready to transfer and i got an error (can't remember) but it formatted my 2ds xl and 3ds. I read that I can move my dsi ware from my 3ds to 2ds xl cuz apparently they can do that, but that did not work. I then decided to just do the transfer again but it was convinced it was done properly. So I tried linking my 3ds to nnid but it said that it couldn't. So I arrived to the conclusion that I had to unlink my nnid from the 2ds xl (I tried redownloading the game and transfer it from nand to SD to hacked console etc. But it did not work) and the only way for that was to format the 2ds xl and remove the nnid on the 3ds with gm9. Have I done the right thing?

No. Now the 2DS XL and 3DS don't have the same id so you can't move the game over without doing another transfer, for which you'll have to wait seven days.

They were linked until you formatted the target.
Edit: I see what you meant now. There had to have been a mistake with the timing of the NAND backup/SD card backup and the transfer for you to have problems like that.

I dunno it's pretty weird because as soon as the guide told me I did a backup so the only thing I can think of to be the problem is likely my internet connection, I used my phone and balanced it on the window to get signal and it was only getting 3g

Is it a new 3DS or old? If new, sign back in on the 2DS XL and transfer back. If it's an old, you'll have to call up Nintendo and ask them to transfer the NNID back. NNIDs are linked server-side, you can't get them back by restoring NAND backups (just to head off that question if you were going to ask it). You transferred to the 2DS XL so it now owns that NNID, the old console can't log into it anymore.

Ok what I'm about to say is gonna sound stupid but here goes my question: so if I make a legit cia of my modified dsiware ( think I can make one cuz it's signed) unlink my nnid, install the legit dsi ware test to see if the exploit works and then transfer over ( I think from what I understood that it will appear on my home menu because it was purchased on my source 3ds and purchases have some kind of console code linked and if the transfer sees it as a transferable correct legit title it will pass because of sys transfer circumstances). Will this work?

Thought I could make a legit cia from godmode9 ( it was signed after all) and the thing about console Id :
The Only Way to play games not purchased from eShop that didn't come pre-installed on a 3DS is to hack the device and install CFW. Tickets are signed using your NNID and 3DS console ID, and the System Transfer requires an online connection because Nintendo Re-signs the tickets when transferred with your second 3DS console ID, meaning grabbing one from another console won't work because the signature data won't match your 3DS ID.
Remember that thread? I do and that gave me an idea but nvm

I have read about people calling up Nintendo to force an account of of their old system so that they can put it on a new one. Even if you are not 18, just do it anyway :), Unless you sound really young, then they might not believe you or you lie about being 18. (Do they ask?)

Someone here could even call on your behalf pretending to be you, you need the serial of the 3ds that you want the nnid removed from.

FunkyCIA/FunKeyCIA/any similar tool won't help you here with your dsiware thing sorry.
Although we can make a legit cia from purchases, we have never been able to install them, strange isn't it.

We can only install cias that have a ticket that doesn't have a console id.

Oh really just the serial number? I guess next time when I'm home alone I'm gonna call Nintendo or as you said I could ask someone (less likely)

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
