Is there a particular reason for it not to use the GPU ?
Yes, pretty much this:
So the "particular reason" that I was looking for is missing drivers, thank you.
We currently don't have any kind of GPU drivers that can be used for Switch Homebrew at the moment.
Hopefully, one day not too far off.

This answer is actually polite (comparing to @m4xw 's answers). Thank you.
To be fair, if you got asked this questions multiple times for 180 pages over the span of months, you'd probably be a little snappy too. Does it excuse the rudeness? Nah, but it makes sense.

I forgot split joycon was added too but its still a bit raw
You may already be aware, but adding joycon 3 and 4 will still operate as an un-split joycon pair, along side split joycons 1 and 2 (which seem to work well). For anyone looking for a work around, you can of course configure input user binds 3 and 4 to share the same joypad index (#2), but you'll have to configure all buttons, for all joycons manually (make input_autodetect_enable = "false") and, the shoulder buttons won't work on 3 and 4, although, the awkwardly positioned ones on the side will still work.
Tested on: RetroNX current stable release - hekate - horizon 4.10

Actually I didnt know that, but it makes sense given how I implemented it.
