-vsync off
-audio sync off
-core option gfx accuracy low
-basically all core options low
-video threaded off(!)
-dont use threaded audio driver

Maybe some 2d game is playable who knows

15fps'ish
Two excellent games to try out would be Yoshi's Story and Mischief Makers.
Perhaps Mortal Kombat Trilogy as well.

For anyone willing to test it out, you can try those games out, since they are all 2D with no 3D involved afaik.

I tried Mortal Kombat Trilogy for grins. It ran at 21fps :P
Mario 64 running a bit slower at 15fps when in the courtyard.

Oh hells yeah, MM is the first game I'm trying when performance improves, that game is crying out for a sequel/remake.

Very first logo of Yoshi's Story is 60fps, then drops to around 17fps after that, doesn't really matter if it's menu or gameplay, and settings don't seem to make much difference.

Does the n64 just print sprites to textures, though? I don't think 2d on n64 is as light as 2d on PSX.

Mischief Makers is high resources game, since it has hella lot of effects on screen.

RetroNX freezes the whole switch when being launched from the new hbmenu.nsp
the person called OG on the Discord where where this nsp where released said that the problem is caused by something in the RetroNX code that have to be updated to allow start as an nsp.
I dont know about these things, is there a way to fix this? I rly like having the homebrew menu accessible as a application/game :)

Use official builds if you want any kind of support.
These builds are unofficial, I have nothing to do with them.

What do you mean? I use official RetroNX, I just start the hbmenu as an nsp, but then after that I start RetroNX like normal and it freezes

What he means is that he doesn't support the to NSP converted hbmenu.nro as it's not officially but made by someone on some Discord server.

However I'm sure I know where you've got that NSP from and under it there is another hbmenu.nsp which is not the actual NRO converted to NSP but more like a forwarder. Try that one or wait until there's a legal way (without the SDK) to build installable NSPs and we surely will be getting a forwarder NSP which launches the retronx.nro directly from the homescreen like on Wii U and 3DS.
