And that's... bad?

Considering I'm a neat person, yes, porn does bother me a lot!

And you didn't consider that maybe after only 3 hours you just weren't very good at the game yet?

Did you ever consider not being able to beat a single npc even on easy is rediculous? dam capcom, dam them to hell.

Wait, what? I'm crap at fighting games, didn't really play many SF games as a kid and I managed it

Doa is a 3d fighter, SSF4 is 2d. They can't really be compared.
What does this even mean anymore? SSF4 is a 3d fighter that just happens to take place entirely on a 2d plane.
And guess what, except for the ability to sidestep and stuff, DOA is pretty much the same way.
So whats this 3d/2d mumbo jumbo about again?

Not agreeing with you, but that was a

QUOTE(Terenigma @ Jan 29 2011, 01:29 AM) Plus if they are keeping the block counter move from DOA4 then in my opinion it will completely destroy street fighter.
I was talking to someone at a game stop and said it makes it to hard to fight cpu on hard or something like that and made him stop playing it.

Personally I'll be buying DOA Dimensions for the fact that it has 3D jiggle physics I already have SSFIV for my 360 so a portable version won't help me much anyway. I only paid £14 for SSFIV for my 360, brand new. I'll be damned if I'm paying another £35 for what is essentially the exact same game.

My only concern is what else to get with my 3DS on launch day. I'm no Pro Evo fan, I prefer FIFA. Asphault looks kinda Faily McShovelware, barely any interest in Rayman or Ghost Recon, I guess Monkey Ball would be ok, Nintendogs...meh.

Of course IMHO the games worth waiting for are of course Starfox, Zelda, Mario Kart, Kid Icarus, Chocobo Racing (I like chocobos. Get over it), Resident Evil + Mercenaries, Pilotwings, and that's just what I can think up off the top of my head. Pity none of them will make the launch but such is life, eh?

i don't really like beat m up games, so i probably get none of both. but though i would say that street fighter is the better game, it even looks better.
Neither of these games are Beat 'em Ups, an example of that is Double Dragon. Street Fighter and DOA are Fighting Games.

These two in particular are not too different from their console counterparts.

What made you think this? Base just on videos their gameplay is not bad at all, maybe even better.

Just because it's on a handheld it requires no real skills? No offense, dude but that's just retarded.

Mercenaries should be a launch title. (as in "will be, but I'm unsure if it will be in your area")

I vote Dead or Alive, because I like the characters better and I've already picked-up Super Street Fighter IV... Thrice.

Actually when Mercenaries will be released in the U.S. is confusing. It was supposedly listed at a launch title on some sites but it's reported to be released later during the year at others.

Is there actually anyone who wants to play SFIV that doesn't already have it on PS3, 360 or PC?

Yes of course there are people, fighting and SF fans. I have the games for both PS3 and 360.

I need my SF fix on the go and SSF4 or DoA is perfect for short burst practice.

I've never tried the Dead or Alive games, so it's SSFIV for me. I might pick up DoA at a later date, though..

My only gripe is the control scheme; I use a Tournament edition Fightstick on the 360 version, which is essentially a necessity if you want to really handle your executions well.

Chances are, I'll still play the 3DS version on a regular basis purely for the portable factor. Aside from the controls and slight graphical changes, both games are identical (if anything, the 3DS has slightly more content).

The control been debunked for a while, it just boils down to a matter of preference. We saw the Pad gief fighter beating Justin Wong. Lately my friend (who always play with an arcade stick) remind me of the emergence of more professional pad players.

In your case, since you are use to the arcade stick, playing on dpad is not exactly the same thing.

It all come down if you comfortable with it and been able to play at a high level or not or just for fun (regardless of some technicality).

Street Fighter has become an over complex piece of trash. The last good SF game was SSF Alpha two for the snes and saturn.

I have not played a DoD game but I read the game controls are very simular to takken. So I'm going with that.

Will be staying away from online modes. All PvP games and pvp game modes are filled with two types of losers: 24/7hr nerds who don't even get up to use the bathroom and fuck-mastered the game in less than 2 days. The second are the various cheaters. One such cheat is to lag your modem to death aka standbying.

Saddly devs have become obsessed with heavy online modes and good and easy single play is slowly becoming a dead art.

Even sadder games that are strictly single player are either way too short or so over barely hard only the nerdest of players can beat them *cough post 90s mega man cough* made by craptastic *cough capcom *cough

From all the post I can gather, you are not a fighting fans enthusiast who play competitively or play often.
We all know playing online is not as good as playing live with a real person due to lag, latency and or cheating.
Hence why playing online, it is mostly for practicing, playing with friends, etc.
For competitive edge, people always go to gathering of SSF4 or any other fighting games.
My friend do it often and the fighting scene here in my city, they organize big tournament once in a while.

Did you ever consider maybe you are not good for fighting game and you are better left off not playing it?
Compare to the king of AI cheapness (MK), the AI in SF is ok but really…WHO CARE BOUT AI in a fighting game?
Only beginner will start playing with AI/NPC. 99% of SF players will play against real opponent, online or live.

Stop playing fighting game, they are not for you. XD

I voted for DOA. SSFIV was pretty good in my opinion but in the long run it might get boring if you just play arcade. DOA has 'chronicle' or story mode! This might be interesting.

Of course, I will wait for reviews to flock in first before deciding.
